You don't have to update the navcore, but I'm sure there will be a few newer updates available now. If you do update it then the ttsystem file will need patching again, then delete the old map folder & postcode files & add new map folder & postcode files. The new map will the require activating - see the guide I've posted in here.

If you are using one of the UK maps I've posted on the forum, the me ta info is included in the download.

yes ive used the uk map v870.3406 im now using the newest bbs tools and when i click "search device " it doesnt find it in tom tom home but asks if i want to continue so i try to load maps and it seems to go on device , as it tells you not to remove device , then i click activate map and it says map activated but when i reboot TT 520 theres a picture of a tom tom on screen and a blue tom tom sign keeps coming out of the bottom of the picture and then a red cross is being drawn on the blue tom tom sign . please help . am i nearly there ? ive printed out instructions and followed them but seem to be stuck . thanks

Connect to PC - it will see it as an extra drive, then use windows explorer.

What version of Navcore have you got on it now ?

Sounds like you need to patch everything again if the system is already patched BBS tools should tell you, good luck!
When you say sim card I suppose you mean SD card?

ive managed it now . just copied everything back to the device apart from the old map and have updated speed cameras .

just one question is it possible using explorer to just delete the old map from device and then load new map using bbs tool and activate it ?
then you dont need to re-load everything except the old map back to the device . hope you follow what i mean . thanks

Yes - that's the easiest way - & you can copy the file named 'mapsettings.cfg' from your old map folder to new map folder - this saves your Home, Favourites & recent destinations to the new map.
Oh - you can use explorer to add the new map.

is it just the mapsettings file you need to transfer to the map folder as there are a lot of other files there aswell or are these not required?
also if you use explorer to put new map on device does this mean you just use bbs tools to browse for map on device and then activate it . thanks again for your help

If you are using the pgpsw speed camera files, just overwrite the old files. Don't know about the Tomtom files as I have never used them.
