Hi. I am thinking about buying the Tring+ card and conax cam for the up coming football season.

My question is, will the conax cam need to be "initialised" to work in my Humax 5400 and if so, is the Humax able to do this initilation?

I am asking because I think I remember reading ages ago that the Humax is not capable of initialising a cam.

Any help appreciated.

I don't have any cam at the moment so I would need to get a conax one, that is why I am asking if it will work straight off in the Humax?

Used a Viaccess CAM in a Humax, no prob. Card worked straight away (Al-Jaz). Never tried a Conax CAM though.

@ pixey

conax cam works fine n.p. in humax patched irci 5400 - no problem with tring card either in past years

and as said via black and via red cam work ok with apropriate cards

however i do remember the initialization prob with certain cams but i did not get that prob with conax or via cams

u can get over any initialisation cam probs by putting the cams in an another STB or even i believe using a cas 2/3 ( cas 2 with add ons ) to regognize the cam

Thanks chrishellis for your reply.
I hope you are right as I don't have access to an other STB.
