Guys I picked up a old 26" flat screen Phillips LCD tv for £50 a few weeks ago and the picture is great but because its old it only has a DVI socket ( it has the HD ready logo ) and a DVI audio socket.

The DVI audio socket is a standard 3.5mm jack.

So I thought I would get a Toslink to 3.5mm jack audio lead so I could insert the Toslink end into my DB800 and the jack end into the TV but I still have no sound.

Does anyone know what I need or what I could do to get sound on this TV.

Thanks

OK just found out that the reason its not working is that Toslink is digital and DVI audio is analog. So it looks like I need a converter. Can anyone confirm that ?

Just a plain 3.5mm plug stereo analogue audio cable should work.

OK so I need a converter because the DB800 only has the optical output so it would be toslink cable from DB800 to converter and then two rca ( red and white ) to 3.5mm jack for tv.

If the DM800 has a SCART socket you should be able to get audio out from there, so you just need a SCART to Phono L+R Audio adapter.
