White card and Mcas

Any body having trouble with white card not opening ITV HD and Channel 5HD via Mcas?
Did a factory reset to get Free Tv+ working on my stc6000 (success) but white card seems not to work. I get all the initialization prompts ok but shows as scrambled.
I did delete the Nascam plugin but can't see why that should make a difference, also did an update of Mcas via auto update plugin and new keys were added but for what I don't know. It would be useful to know just what Mcas opens these days, not much I susupect but would like to know anyway.

itv isnt scrambled so not sure why you mentioned that one

there is also an fta ch5 too , unless you mean 5usa , or 5* or ch5HD ?

the channels opened by softcam are listed as the packages and channels with the softcam
therefore check the details on the current softcams for what is open

I use the ITV HD channel that is on the same transponder as BBC HD and BBC1 HD for recording reasons and that ITV channel is scrambled as is Channel 5 HD.
Both these channels did open prior to me doing an auto update for Mcas

the devil is in the detail m8 ;)

so its the scrambled HD versions you are after , which do need the card

maybe you should try the old mcas then ?

in other words check softcams for more details on softcams , cccam for more details on cccam , mgcamd for more details on mgcamd etc

is the white card up to date ?

if the entitlements are out of date it wont work

Its about 4 months old, I did wonder if the card needed putting into the sly box to be updated but I was told on this forum that would not be required.
I suppose the card could have developed a fault

its my opinion the entitlements have run out and it simply needs updating in a sly box , spiderbox or similar , I know mine do

the entitlements only last 6 to 8 weeks , and if you test pick tv , five star ( 5* ) and 5usa you can tell if its working or not

if they work its updated , if none work then its out of time and needs an update

seems to me you are blaming mcas when in fact the card has simply ran out of date on the entitlements and needs a simple update in a sly box or spiderbox or similar , afaik it wont update in the icecrypt , others may know or think different

if you had a dreambox or a tm9100 or similar you could easily check the entitlements in oscam or newcs

or place the card in any sly box and test 5* , 5usa , pick tv and channel 5 on 105 to see if its working or not

its very unlikely to be a faulty card , but an out of date card , and you overlooked the obvious

If I have to update the entitlements as you say then thats ok but that is not what I was lead to believe, but it doesn't matter just another peg in the ground of understanding the kit I have and what its capabilities/limitations are.
I will give it a go tomorrow and let you know.

fair enough , but if you had asked ME if the white card needs regular updates ( or searched satpimps for the same info ) you would have seen or been told that the card needs updating every 4 to 6 weeks in a suitable box , and I am sure that this is your problem , however , it was you that posted about mcas not opening those 2 channels , and it was I that pointed out that its likely to be the card being out of date , so you assumed the card was ok and that mcas was at fault and posted about it , whereas I decided that the opposite was true

no m8 , not qualified :D

but I am trained in spotting errors and assumptions and getting to the heart of the matter as I am a trained comms engineer used to finding faults or human errors or omissions

so if you check that other thread where he said he was going to refrain from making assumptions , and if you also check how many times he was told to check softcam details on what channels are open , then I feel its only fit and proper to pull him up on it , especially as its a well known fact for many a year that white cards need regular updates ( as did the previous dark blue ones ) and I also checked my white cards were working in my spiders and dreambox before replying , so I suppose if we teach them the correct path to follow , they may actually learn something and not repeat the error

I was reliably informed when I purchased the stb from a source that should know that the white card did not need to be activated or updated by a sly box because it was a freesatfromsly card and indeed when I received the card it worked first time in the stc6000. In the past there have been occasions where Mcas has not opened the the channels in question and we have had to wait for an updated version (Mcas that is).I did try the card in an old sly box as suggested and got a message saying "wrong card for this box" and yes I was tuned into a channel that should have opened, pick tv and 5usa

Thanks for your moral support, this is a hobby and ment to be fun for those involved, while admitting I could be clearer in my requests for help I have to say that if the level of critism is typical of what is dished out to a newby on this forum then it must put a lot of people off getting involved which is a shame. For me it won't make a dam bit of difference, I will continue to try and get my head around all this dispite some of the comments received. I find it stimulating and rewarding as a hobby.

The majority of members on here would RELIABLY tell you that it DOES need updating however , and those are the only sources that matter to me , AND I WOULD HAVE TOO , so your reliable source clearly doesnt know jack ..... !

yes you should be clearer when you ask for help and I am finding it tiresome that you do not practice this when you have preached that you will do so

as mentioned in other threads put all the details down as regards your model number , version numbers etc when posting

you should also refrain from asking the same questions over and over again , or starting new ones when you could have tacked it onto the previous thread where softcams were discussed a lot , and where coldasice thanked me for the advice given AND used the thanks button which you have not done

you also said you would stop making assumptions , and yet your white card with mcas theory focussed purely on mcas and not the card

the fact that the card gives you that message , is typical of what message the card will give when its not paired to the box , as is also do***ented elsewhere on the forum

the fact it does not open 5* or 5usa or channel 5 on 105 is also proof positive that the dates have expired on the freesat entitlements , leaving it on ch5 or 5usa etc in the sly box for a few days should resurrect the card however ( none of this is an icecrypt issue )

you can post on whatever topic you like here , in the correct forum , but members will expect that you have done the research and searched for the answers beforehand

you should also be aware that when you have made promises to the admin on this like you did the other day , I take a dim view of you ignoring your own advice and mine , and my answers will always reflect that and pull you or somebody else up on it , until the day dawns that you do as required or as promised , and that is when you will see results

therefore :- update the card in the slybox ( not an icecrypt issue )

and check the softcams for channels that open ( like arqiva or rai italia for instance , again not an icecrypt issue )

perhaps its worth pointing out that just because you have an icecrypt the questions or problems are not always icecrypt problems , as can be seen in this thread where I have not seen one relevant icecrypt question

lastly , you are not a newbie , apart from the icecrypt , as you have been a member here for 3 years , which is long enough to learn the ropes

should be ok for about 6 weeks and then will need doing again , and again , ad infinitum
