Hi

Russell helped me before and I have been trying to find the post's of last year, but can not locate what I did last time?

I did a TT update on my unit today and now it doesn't accept the map I had.

Can you tell me what I need to do again as I am on new PC and can not locate, my old files.

If you Just Updated TT Home (On pc), i guess that you need to re patch your TT home using Albert's activator Tool !

What version of Navcore have you got on the Tomtom & what is the full map version number ? The latest maps are the v870 maps (v875 should be out in a couple of weeks).
As you have updated the Navcore you will have to patch the ttsystem file again. You will also have to activate any new maps (& make sure the map version you get will work with the navcore you have got).
Have a look at the guide I've posted in this section.

I followed all step's but when switching on the device, i get , You can not use this Map on this device.

I also get, your ttsystem files is already done?

This is with the Albert's activator Tool .

Still can't get this to work.

Tried with bbs tools also and won't patch the TTsys also.

Is the issue, I last patched on another PC and even if I try to find the home file it don't exist?

Found my old backup I did back in Sept 2010 and copied the TTs file and PND file from it.

Re-copied new map file.

Then redone step's in Albert's activator Tool and seemed to have worked

Now that it is working, when new maps come?
Do I just copy the New map or do I need to redo this all as, all I tried to do today was put a new map (from here) after I used the TT update's (From TT Home) it had.

Every time you add a new copied map it will need activating. Which map did you try to use ? Also - every time you update the navcore using TT hoome you will have to patch the ttsystem file on your tomtom.

I understand that, but it said the TTsys was already patched, hence why I had to copy the orig files from an orig backup.

It's wouldn't let me patch an already patched one.

I used the latest Map 3046?

Make sure you use the correct m**a for the map you want to use else it won't work.

I guess you mean v870.3406 map ??
This map version only works with Navcore v8.204 or higher.
As asked previously - what version of Navcore have you got on your Tomtom ?

How I find out as I am sure it said 9 something? The TT Start is less than 2yrs old.

App ver 9.053.######.2

As I stated Painter, I followed all the steps and only way to re-patch was to copy those two Orig files back.

If you switch your tom tom on in BBs tools your navcore should be shown third box up.

If you had read my post and seen I posted the App version, you could have responded by saying that is Navcore version and is compatible with the current Maps posted.

Yet you failed to read my post's and now resort to name calling?

my opinion , and thats all it is , an opinion , is they arent up to v9 firmware yet , unless this tom tom is different

my pna is on 7.910 and afaik they are on v8 possibly , I have posted a chart in this forum from another forum showing versions and maps compatibilities if that helps

and on any tom tom I have tried you check the V number by pressing near the bottom right where it says the time and satellite strength lock

the version is just above where it says DONE , on the bottom right , mine says 7.910

press on that version number and you get a full screen of info , including app version number and map in use with version number

mine says app version 7.910 (9185) , map number - mine says 870_3417

language - english uk

and my 10 character device ID a1b2c 3d4e5 (example)

the version of the app is what is required here , then check the chart I posted for map compatibility , but I cannot see any v9 maps

hope that helps

I not disputing anything here and am trying to explain :-

Since I had issue with this new map which Russell posted, I asked for help as, all I had done was a TT Update using their software.

I tried both the bbs and other tool and none worked.

I already explained this and since I needed to use the TT to do a visit, I decided to check if I could find my Official backup I did.

I was lucky that I kept it, so I copied the TTs file and PND file from it, as those were the two it complained about using the tools from here.

Now when I done that, I have a working TT as it was able to patch it correct.

My TT Navcore is 9.053.######.2 and work's with v870.3406 map .

If the info the member's here have, show's no version 9 compatibility, then it is safe to say, I have done it with Version 9 and used the device without a problem.

Hope it help's.

Hi, changing and making the map work isn't for the faint hearted, see this thread "New-guide-for-updating-Tomtom-units", read all and download "Albert's Activation Tool v0.57.21"

You need to get your TomTom ID with this, then load the new map, this will generate a new patch file, you also have to crack the TomTom it's self and the "Home" software on the PC, take your time reading all the how to files, it does work

PS you will also need to move all the speed camera files and any of your POI files
PPS all the files and info/links needed are in this forum
