Debranding a Nokia 6234 to 6233

Hi All .

I'm trying to debrand a Nokia 6234 (vodafone) over to a generic Nokia 6233 . Most of the guides I've found are from 2007 . I've changed the product code from 0539254 to 0535981 . The problem is that the latest version of Nokia NSU (V2.6.9) still detects it as a 6234 and not a 6233 ? I thought that the product code was the only way to identify a model . I must be wrong . Anyone have any suggestions ?

Had to use Phoenix in the end to flash it . I also used product code 0532099 which is the generic 6234 . Bye Vodafone !
