4w

hi all, im having problems getting 4w. i am in Belfast n. Ireland and using a 1.2 channel master dish. after a lot of fine tuning i can get from 33e to 30w good signals but cannot get anything on 4w amos.
any advice.

I cannot get 4w either , on a triax 110cm dish , and I am east of you , and yet I get 5w and 0.8w loud and clear

I can get a few frequencies from amos 2, but they are quite erratic, used to be able to get a few from amos 3 too, but they seemed to have dropped out completely in the last few months. The signal from both amos sats drops off dramatically as you go west, think you would need something over 2m to get anything in Northern Ireland.

a few years ago I could get a few channels like the previous reply , including megasport , but not seen anything at all in recent months/years

so no , not just you , and in any case we cannot always pick up satellites and channels here in the uk , we are lucky to receive what we do get from so many satellites

hmmm, i dont know if ive ever been able to get it, i assumed 4 and 5w merged as there is only 1degree difference, i noticed that when i scan 4w and 5w i get the same channels more or less.

agreed , you get the same with 9e and 10e as some members found out recently on here , but no they havent merged , but 4w seems poor in the uk compared to a few years ago

I've got a 1.3mtr and have never got a sniff from 4w, w.london.

On a 1.2 in Souf UK I used to get Amos 2 but not Amos 1. Looks like the names have now changed! I still get Amos 2. Taking 1 Plus 1 as an example the signal is 65% with a clear sky.

Here in NW near Bolton hardly any signal during the day on 4 west on my 1mtr Dish.Signal starts to get strong 73.3%-75% from 7pm-11pm getting about 15 fta russian channels TBI M1 M2 ect .

No, you are picking up on Amos 2.

thanks , just tried it now and I do get it although its a poor signal , getting several channels on spiderbox at 73% S and 45% Q ,also getting 10758H 30000

otv , news24 , m1 , m2 , 1+1 , 1+1 cinema , tv kyiv , tbi , ubr , kiev stb , tonis , citi , ivtv , p delovoy , qtv , k1 , mtv hits , and a lot of n d s too , but not megasport

plus loads on Amos 2

don't go to this sat much, but with interest been shown thought i'd have a look
(can't look tonight, as i'm painting the stairs !)

Not to bad i thought, was still able to receive all transponders this morning, there seemed only one English audio, and that was on a childrens channel.

Think you've got pretty much everything on the european beams there, thats good going for this sat! There's a couple of things i find strange though, for example, we can both get 10722H, you get Q62, i get up to Q57, you also get 11610H, Q82, more signal than you get on 10722H, yet i get nothing at all from that frequency! Always found 4w odd, signals seem to be up and down all the time, strangest one for me is 11673H, normally get nothing on this but one night got a signal on it and it went right upto Q53 (i only need Q29 for a stable picture), next morning it was gone again. Just seems really odd!

Just had a look at 11673 h , just nudged dish slightly eastwards, and NOW getting (at 11.45 UK, time) s 80 Q50, altho, the eastward nudge, lowered the signal on other transponders slightly.

Give your dish a eastwards nudge SatSearcher and see what happens.

Tried nudging it east and west, still no joy on 11673H, although i did get a signal on 11258H for the first time in months, scanned in the channels, then my box crashed, rebooted, but by that time (about 2 minutes) the signal had gone and not got it back since. Like i said, very odd sat!

nudging e/w will also move the dish to 5w telecom and some mistake this for amos

True, Satwyn i found slightly nudging eastwards inproved the Hungary beams, i've never ventured into 5w whilst playing with 4w, altho like you said, its very close.

i get a few channels on this sat not many and nothing interesting ..better on 10 east as there can be many really good Fta feeds on this sat all the time .
