More feeds on SES Astra Satellites
OU customers benefit from single-point access to our entire fleet
2011 has been an exciting year for us.
In May we announced the consolidation of SES ASTRA’ and SES WORLD SKIES’
activities to operate under a new and streamlined management structure,
enabling us to better meet the needs of our customers around the world.
Four months later, we present a new brand identity and logo at the media industry’s
leading annual trade show IBC in Amsterdam.
But what does this spell for our customers?
“For the first time ever, our global occasional use (OU) customers will have immediate single-point access to the entire SES fleet.
They can self provision their own bookings online or tap the expertise of our occasional use and special events teams,
” said our senior sales director of global OU team, Richard Lamb.
In addition, our OU team, who serves some of the largest, most innovative news and special events producers in the world,
is enhancing our online booking system aimed at making fleet and footprint research and capacity orders faster and simpler than ever.
“From our fleet to our rate cards and booking procedures, this single streamlined system harmonises all elements of OU operations,” Lamb said.
According to Lamb, our recent investments in advanced booking tools, including Google Earth footprints,
are also what set up apart from other satellite operators.
“Google Earth technology provides a user-friendly interface to the mission critical details about the satellite,
beam and coverage that broadcasters need to make effective connections around the world,” said Lamb.
As part of our OU team’s efforts to create a homogeneous global presence and single interface for our customers,
we will roll out a global News Alert service, based on successful trials in Europe,
which notifies customers of the capacity and footprints available to cover specific breaking news events around the world.
This will allow our customers “to know immediately what bandwidth we can provide to help them or their customers cover the event,
without picking up the phone”.
“At SES, we care about making every single process as simple and seamless as possible,” said Lamb.
