I have installed this image and i cannot get CCcam to work. I tried a targz file but it did not show in tmp. I then downloaded a tarbz2 file and it showed in tmp . I then installed it and it said successfully but it is not showing up and i looked in usr bin and there is no CCcam there either.Any suggestions please

Yeah, seems to be a problem. Try to download TS panel and install from that !

try This method for the hdd :

Try first like this :
menu, system, device manager, mass storage
If you see your HDD name on the left, select the hdd, use the "right" arrow on remote and chose /media/hdd, press ok !
Now go back to menu, system, device manager, harddisk, initialization , press ok and press Red to initialize, if you get a error, just make a complet reboot.
After the complet reboot, you should see that the hdd is mounted correctly, Now to record :
Open DCC got to /media/hdd and check if you see a "movie" folder inside.
If the folder is not present, on the /media/hdd folder, right click and chose "new folder", type "movie" save and exit.
I just tested this method with an external powered HDD, connected to usb port and it's working !

Thanks Passete. I typed telnet to the box and typed mount but there was nothing about hdd so i edited the fstab file with this line
/dev/sda1 /media/hdd auto defaults 0 0 and it worked whether it lasts or not is another thing but it initialised no problem then
Thanks i have a feeling i will be back.I have a 1tb hard drive with dedicated power supply so i will try out your suggestion on that and let you know how i get on
