Struggling to update F&H

I've got a F&H which has TomTom One 3rd edition on it from a while ago.

It has v.910 and the maps are Western_Europe_1GB_845.2666.

I'd like to update the maps and as I only havea 1gb sd card downloaded United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ir eland 875.3675.

Please can someone guide me through where I am going wrong.


I am using BBS Tools v 1.0.43 and it gives me the following info

I then Press "Maps" and find the folder on my PC and it copies that to my sd card.

The next bit is where I come unstuck, I press Keygen - patch map v 7/ 8, select the map on my sd card and press activate map.

I then get a warning box saying !!! Map could not be activated!!! Check that you have updated ****.text

This is the part I don't understand?

When I downloaded the map it came with a **** text file - am I spposed to alter that in some way?

yes , use the edit and replace whatever it shows with the m*ta txt file that came with the map , using copy and paste

than try activating the map on the sdcard again

Now I've got the taste for this gatnav stuff, my OH has an even older navigo with version 6.00 and maps 6.75.

Should I be able to update to the same as my F&H now and if so please do you know what I need to download, as I already have the maps on my pc.

I have no idea what an OH is m8

the ones I use are navigo and f+h , and all can be updated yes

Sorry, OH means Other Half - my wife.

same files work on any satnav in this section , just the serial code of the satnav changes and the map will need activating again on each and every device

so you could copy yours to hdd from sdcard , place on her sdcard , and patch the maps again, as her navigo unique ID is different , they all are

That was going so well until I switched on TT and it says "TomTom Navigator unable to start. Not enough memory is available."

thats why you usually have to add files to the flash and alter it in order to have a menu that boots and runs a program directly

You shouldn't have any trouble updating a Navigo . I have both the V1 [4.3"] and V2 [3.5"] and have just updated my V2 to the tt7910 version
with the United_Kingdom_&_Republic_of_Ireland 875.3675 map. Working great , I just have the V1 to do .Start fresh with a blank formatted card and copy the OS [tt] from your PC to the card with the map . I have heard of problems with all files not copying when copying cards to cards .I have always had all relevant files in a folder on my PC/laptop and transfering the program and maps to a formated card and have not copied cards to cards .
