Latest softcam problem

I was getting Bulsat clearing OK o8.00 this morning but I saw Bobs new softcam dated 2-11 so I loaded it. Lost picture showing scrambled. I have just put powerciscos earlier softcam in but still no go. I was running 42p and have switched to 26p to see if that works but no go. Am I alone? Hopefully its not an STB problem.

seems ok on my spiderbox and I have not changed the softcam for a while ( nova and diema are ok )

so whatever the problem is , its on your box and is likely to be your softcam I would think

you do realise its december I take it ? ( you said 2-11 which is november )

My mistake 2-12 actually. Just checking AZ tv which will give me time to sort if footy is on 13e biss. Will report back.

Az tv showing a film (LJs gives footy) triede turning off box will put 742p back and try again.

Ckecked 19e still clearing Hustler Animax TCM etc. Nothing on 39e. now doing a rescan.

Still no go. Obviously box problem, good job I an getting new one soon. Will watch games streaming with HDMI to big telly. Will report if I solve problem.

I hope you are getting fta on 39e like say KANAL 3 on 12688H 30000 for instance ?

Watched the Newcastle game fine on web stream, but Spurs breaking up so I will have a go at my STB now. (Bob thanks for all your softcams much appreciated not cams fault I think)

newcastle was fta on sport 1 on 16e m8 ;) and in english too

better check your dish alignment using fta channels on each position

Getting 93% level and 62%quality as usual. Jiggled and got 71% no change in scrambling

as usual you still havent answered the important question first

are you getting KANAL 3 fta ?

Ran through all previous opened channels, confirm it is only Irdeto channels on 39e that I have lost, all others clearing fine. 39e FTA OK. Tried different patches and softcams to no avail. Did a factory reset then reentered 742p and latest softcam 39e still not clearing.

I put the new files in my6800 and nova did not work but the file dated the 28/11 does on diema football nova boxing regards waltwal

has anyone bothered to actually check the irdeto keys listed in the tmsoftcams against those inside the spider softcams ?

especially as my spider is working , which means its EXACTLY the same keys ( or should be )

seems obvious that a long term member/hobbyist would check that first

As I seemed to be the only one affected I put the problem down to my box rather than the files. I checked the keys in my CAS Keyedit section and the Irdeto keys seem to be the same as the latest one I could find with a google search. I am not sure if the keys showing in the keyedit are the firmware or the softcam and would appreciate your advice. Also the softcam files just come as stb. files and I dont know how to open them to find the content. My laptop will not open them to text.? Again advice appreciated. I will try waltwals 28/11 advice first.

Thanks Waltwal, the 28/11 file does clear Diema etc!. I must add something here. Echelon has been scathing in his opinion that there is a lack of interest in the TM sections. I always try and add my bit although I do get told off a lot.! When you appear to be the only one with a problem it is natural to assume you have done something wrong (as I did as nobody else in the section seemed to have my problem) Surely if it didnt work for me and Waltwal some others must have had the same problem? Wheres the feedback.?
So Echelon you will have to put up with my sometimes daft questions because my view is that posting ANYTHING is better than nothing to nprogress.

stb files are firmware files ( stb = Set Top Box , thought you would have known this by now )

softcam files can be opened in notepad , or better still notepad++ , they are basically txt files , not stb files , but have a different suffix , like key on the spider

the same applies on the tm , key means key , or actually KEYS but you dont have a 4 character suffix , its been set at 3 for decades

as in doc for word docs ( now docx ) , xls for excel files , mp3 or wav for music files , etc


as they are both in KEY format , opening both in notepad++ allows a direct comparison

if you are trying to open an stb file , then stop right there , dont bother , as you dont know how to do so and wouldnt understand it if you did

so key is the file you need
