Can anyone tell me how to enter the boxkey on a spiderbox 5000?

I have the card working clearing all channels except the premium channels. I do not know how to enter the boxkey.

Thanks in advance.

click on the card **S above keyedit in accessory , press red button and enter and save , tells you bottom right with red and green

I dont have those options,
in accessory I only have
smart card,
rs232,
pvr
emu

doing red button in any of them does nothing

I am using firmware 2.15 if that helps.

well I dont have a 5000 so it may be different on yours compared to my 9000 , so would assume its where it says smartcard

but you would have thought it would have recognised the smartcard as n*s surely ?

but the latest firmware is v2.30 , that I do know

there seems to be a bit of difference in the two softwares, i can finds tuts on the 9000 but not the 5000

still dont think it should say smartcard , but it would be in there where you add it , mine changes from not inserted , to n*s when its recognised

a google search only found your question somewhere else , and your v2.15 firmware is over 12 months old I think , whereas v2.30 is only a few weeks old

tried the 2.3 firmware, it looks exactly like the 2.15, i am beginning to think there is no option to enter box key on this receiver.

Hi M8

I have just done a google on entering a boxkey on the spiderbox 5000SD, and several others had asked the same question, however 1 person confirmed that it could not be done, see his reply here:

you can not enter a boxkey with the 5000sd,i sent mine back for that reason

The 5000SD doesn't have the power to handle the processing.
