Tuner loopthrough

Up to now I have only had one coax lead on my DB 8000[ socket A and tuner loopthrough applied] and accept that I can record one channel and watch another only if vert/horiz is the same for each - why then can I not record a Sky vert HD channel with a BBC vert channel HD? Being thick again I expect. many thanks for any response. Cheers - Brain

It's not only Vertical and Horizontal that's involved, it's also whether it's high or low band, both channels must also be above or below the freq. 11700.

Thanks for that - I hadnt realised that or had a problem before. Just always checked H/V before. Bit like the old TM box 6900 problems not finding channels in the upper range then! Cheers - Brain

4 dishes with octo lnb's = 4 x 8 =32 cables!
motorised with dual = 2 cables
patio - 1 x 3m dish with quatro lnb = 4 cables
= 38 cables.......

New to this and sorry to ****** the thread, but an I correct in assuming that if I add 2 more DVB-S tuners to my dm8000, I could record 3 channels and watch another ?
Fixed dish with quad lnb by the way and been running 8000 hd pvr for 6 months now, so I'm very new to this.

Yup -so long as you have the 4 leads required - just a loopthrough gives limited channels,both for H/V and above or below 11700. Above thread sums this all up but I really cant justify 4 leads coming into the lounge!! LOL - Every success - brain
