Hi. I have been using a Humax 5400 for many years now, but am thinking of getting the DM800SE as a HD box.
Can anyone tell me what is available using the Dreambox, without using card sharing?
I can open the channels on 39e with the Humax and fausto, but not much else. I assume that the Dreambox can open these also.

Thanks

The same is available, either its cardsharing or not. The difference is that you wont need fausto, or a pc connected 24/7 to your humax. Humax wont work as a media center either. There are a few more you can get with keys, not only 39e, which are available to your humax as well.

check the softcam posts , as the packages and satellites listed with the softcams tell you what is open and where

but its more or less the same as your humax , plus any FTA HD channels too

Hi pixey,

If its a new Linux box like DM 800se, the new VU+ Uno has the same chipset as
the latest DM8000HD (£899) the Uno is (£279).

If its a Linux box to open S@y 28e and S@y italy and D+ and more, the
Icecrypt S3500HDCCI (£149 ) is one to think about, thing is
once you upload (Nascam) free for one month into S3500 you pay after that.
Smart little box, can record 3 channels at same time (same fransponders), and you can
view 2 channels at the same time with its 50/50 split screen.
Fi Wi adapter (£25).

If its a Linux box that does every thing for you (Loads software, load updates, update bouquets)
on 10 different sats the (Protek 9760IP or Mark1) box (£279) is one to consider.

BF.

Not quite the Chipset used in the DM8000HD is a Broadcom 7400 the one used in the VU+ UNO is the Broadcom 7413 which is faster and also has a faster processor speed, Even the 800se which is again slightly specced better than the 8000 is still behind the Uno

The 8000 is 3 years old, the uno isn't even uno years old
