Rytec EPG issues

Hi Guys.

It seems the Rytec EPG server may be down, and all files on their site have been deleted!!
Any ideas please??
Looking to get a decent EPG running especially on 28.2

The files are back but rytec does his work on the openpli board these days.
Any problems look there.

Just installed cross epg, looks good.
I have my USB mounted correctly, but still no epg populatiion.
May I ask kind sir, what provider you used to get urs populated pls??
I tried a few, but nothing.
Am continuing now to find a provider that works.

Just did a download (corssepg), I used XEPGDB group, then sky uk
to get the epg to populate, reset the box once downloaded.

just open crossepg plugin
select XEPGDB providers
highlight Rytec UK XMLTV (XEPGDB repacked)
press yellow button

ensure hdd is selected to save to

before you do that, make sure there are no green ticks anywhere alse (other providers)
the epg is downloaded from the sifteam web site

When you configure crossepg you choose where to save, USB is fine and it saves the HDD from spinning up when you zap.

maybe am using an older version of cross epg.
It should be so simple, but sitting here for hours and tried everything.

I have even updated the providers within cross epg, and also tries open epg via hip hop.
The latter should work!!
Is the epg stream that sky uk use

should see the size & dates of the files

did you turn the box off & back on again (use menu - standby/restart - restart)
the ext.epg.dat file should be today's date and more than 7Mb

1. try - just download the XEPGDB as described above. - let us know if that works - it works for me

2. as far as I can ascertain from another forum - DreamMultimedia have screwed up some epg code, so the opentv (hip hop) doesn't save properly.

I can download it on a search, but want to replicate your working example if possible.
Is the only thing i can think of now.
We all have non original dm800's and all the same issues :-(

I just assumed that the XMLTV stuff was common, and had no bearing if was clone or not.
Did not think it was relevant.
No offence intended my friend.

Maybe this will explain why my Vu+Duo in the other room is fine.

you are talking about a spiderbox , this is the dreambox section , different scenario entirely ;)

I've been using an old dreameliteBH image on clone for 18 months+, but have finally given in and reflashed to EDG-Nemesis due to ongoing epg issues. Satmate was good before going up the spout, Rytec has been hit and miss, and now that seems to have gone too. The in-built opentv loader on dreamelite never worked properly for me, and crossepg won't work with this version of DE either.

EDG-Nemesis seems to work perfectly with crossepg/opentv.

Just been reading up on google abt it, and various forums.
I must have a dozen friends with this issue.
They will not be happy Lol
EDG nemesis is prety nice I know.
Am guessing is a driver issue, as DE 1.3.3 V3 seems to use old 2010 drivers.
Is still wierd tho????

Never had any problems until satmate/rytec went belly up. To be fair, from what I've read in various forums, the opentv loader and incompatibility with crossepg have given genuine box owners using that particular image problems too.

Anyway, all seems to work perfectly with the replacement image.

The beauty of that image I used is that it comes with crossepg, and epg works out of the box using opentv - so no having to rely on internet servers.

It's been a while since I flashed a different image, so beyond the inevitable head scratching getting everything set up as I want it, no problems. Seems more stable than DE ever was, and a couple of addon servers are available and working.
