Mediathek V2.9 Does it still work?

I have read that Mediathek v2.9 still works, and works with the AZBOXHD in Spaze 2.1, with out the need for the genuine key check.
Is this true and is there a mipsel of it about any where?

I am not entirely sure but I think it's like Webmedia but made entirely for the official Dream media boxes.
I read that the 2.9 version cir***vented the requirement to key check that your media box box was official before you got access to the media made available.
