Bricked my S4000 sometime last year and gave up on ever recovering it without the use of a XP PC which I don't have.
Anyway, today I tried again to use a serial lead with a USB adapter without any joy.
As a last resort I simply put the latest bootloader on a USB stick and loaded it by switching on at the rear of the box whilst pressing the up button on the STB. This successfully loaded the bootloader.
I then put Firmware on the USB stick and repeated the same process and Da Da my Icecrypt is no longer bricked :respect-001:
In the meantime my new Xtrend is in transit for delivery 2moro!
Isn't always the way LOL
