I am trying to boot an E2 image from USB (front port). I've followed the instructions posted by ManikM and I used the plugin to flash the boot loader. When I boot I get options USB1 P1 - P4 and USB2 P1 - P4 and USB112, I have been through all of them and nothing boots. If I connect back in through Maxiboot and mount the partition I installed my image to I can see the image name I specified. Any tips?

Can anyone confirm they are presented with the same options when booting? If so, can you tell me which selection you make and where you are booting from (USB(front/back)/HDD). I assume no one has hit this problem before. I see a post in regards to booting from HDD and the dsc being formatted but I imagine this same problem does not apply to booting from USB.

Also, just to confirm, do I need to set my model to something other than Icecrypt? I wouldn't think so but I've tried it anyway but it's not made any difference, still can't get image to boot.

Thanks, I'll try some others. The stick I'm using just now is the one I've always used for loading plugins etc but are you saying that there may be an issue regardless of the fact that I can see the stick all the way until it actually comes to booting? Also, are you presented with the same boot options (9 of them excluding Flash) and if so what is USB112?

Is there a minimum partition size required or is it just a case of being large enough for the image? Any particular size for the SWAP?

Thanks, this is doing my head in...

Some usb sticks are too slow to start ..when the machine starts.. so the booting does go back to reboot every few seconds.. just have to try a few different usb sticks.. can be pot luck and end up having a few to many in the end.. LoL..

OK, so it is the USB stick. I've tried 3, 2 don't work at all but the third starts to boot but sticks on "Load Modules". I've waited a few minutes to see if it goes anywhere but it doesn't look to be the case. I'm trying the PKT HAARP v3a image after having the same experience with the v3c image. I'll have to see if I have any other sticks...

What kind of boot times are you guys getting?

i would be patient mate, try the haarp image, or aaf summer one too.
another trick is to try one of your "non working" sticks in a USB hub plugged into your ice

Can people post the USB stick they are using and whether it is direct or through a hub?

Used HP memory stick not through a hub , also used memorycard in a usb adaptor both worked fine
