Yeah looks that way, its on every foreign channel I have just zapped through. This is in response to the recent court case. So now the pubs can not show the football via foreign sat because of this Premier League icon is on the screen. The judge rule that the EPL music and Logo was subject to copy protection.

Part of the Judges ruling below

The court has ruled that although there is no copyright in the matches themselves, there is copyright in the "branding" around the football - the Premier League graphics, music and highlights.

If those are there, pubs will still need the League's permission to show its matches.

add to that no more package will show games in englishSultanta ?? that be english last time i checked ..Tring also have other games which will be english all apart from 3pm's ...just hope JSC Will stick it to Uncle Ruppie and Co. even if they gotta bump up thier card prices thats if they will get EPL games which im certain money wont be the factor .
but yes very true not many providers left that are allowing english audio on Games which really is dissapointing for official card holders paying well over the odds for nothing !!

Hi all.

I just found an anti-logo plugin in my DM800se & it really works.

It pops up in the top left corner & you can then move it anywhere
& it fits over the new PL Logo perfectly & simply blacks it out.

ESPN don't need to show the logo because its in the UK.

More info - Here is a statement from the EPL, this was released on Friday after a High Court judgement.

The Premier League has made a statement regarding Friday's High Court judgment in the QC Leisure foreign satellite case:
"Lord Justice Kitchin's judgment is consistent with the ECJ ruling. It is clear that the law gives us the right to prevent the unauthorised use of our copyrights in pubs and clubs when they are communicated to the public without our authority.
"We will now resume actions against publicans who are using European Economic Area foreign satellite systems to show Premier League football on their premises unlawfully and without our authority.
"There are other elements of the ECJ ruling which we believe are applicable under UK law and we will continue to explore these to protect our rights via the courts and other legal means."

So does anyone know has it then been ruled that it is legal for a regular person to buy a foreign sub and watch it in there own home?.
If this is the case would it then be ok for shops to sell subs and for lets say a company like nova to offer official subs to the uk??

It could well be legal, but at present most broadasters restrict viewing to their own territory & if they are aware of a card in another country, they normally zap them.
It wouldn't be illegal, but it would be against the terms of the provider.

Who knows in the future though, they may start trading like this in other countries if they can overcome the copyright issues.

It's a dreamboxUK image 2.1.1, not sure if the DM500 will take that image though.

Abu Dhabi Sports still have the English commentary (prob cos it's not widely used in the UK) so hopefully it's here to stay.

If we're only talking about match commentary, then there is always DAB radio......

Incidentally I already have a Slingbox but that stream is accounted for ;)
