check the mac address is ok in the ip settings screen , make sure a valid ip has been obtianed from the router

reboot , turn off , count to 10 and turn back on again , then check if the 250mc mac code is in the login id

do not open new threads on the same topic as its confusing and doesnt allow continuity
your threads have been merged into one

if the display stays on f100 you need to repatch it with the repair file for your 9900 using the loader and a null modem cable , then patch it again with the latest patch using usb stick

if the f100 is seen briefly at startup/boot time, then its normal and should disappear quickly

F100 is always displayed when you power on the receiver. Only if it sticks on F100 you have a problem.

Do you see an IP address in the network settings, example 192.168.1.x

What does the IP address show in the network menu?

mdaniels47
05-02-2012, 02:03 PM
it has the number that you can see through the top of the box

it has the number that you can see through the top of the box

that will be in the mac section

hda5 , myself and others want you to check the box ip address as suppied by the router

its either all zeros ( not connected ) or it has something like 192.168.000.003 , with the gateway being 192.168.000.001

then below that will be subnet like 255.255.255.000

below that will be the gateway, like 192.168.000.001

then 1st dns which will be same as gateway by default

then 2nd dns which may be blank

than the bottom one with the mac address as per inside the box

so when asked for an ip , you are required to give the box ip , not its mac code

so in 4 hours you have been asked this ip address several times , and still not given it

hope thats clear ?

OWNERS MAC ADDRESS REMOVED BY ADMIN

NEVER GIVE OUT THE MAC CODE ON A FORUM

mac address removed by me , never give that info out !!

the above seems ok apart from that , although if it was a netgear router you should try setting line 1 to say 192.168.000.101

leave the rest alone

then try switching off for 20 seconds , switch back on and check if the 250mc and the latter part of your mac code (10 characters) shows as the net login ID in ETHERNET

if it does try using the Register once only

then reboot and check the greyed out login ID is present and it should say Connected in Connection status

if there is nothing in the Login ID , turn of networking completely using 1111 in the menu , reboot the box in Utility , then turn 1111 networking back on again

then switch off for 20 seconds , switch back on , let it settle for a minute and check again

ps , not sure where you got those dns lines from

I use the google ones

Primary is 008.008.004.004
Secondary is 208.067.222.222

save your channel list and factory reset the box , then turn it off, 20 seconds later turn it back on and reload the channel list

then turn networking back on and fix the ip address etc as follows ( change from auto to manual )

ip address 192.168.000.101
subnet mask.255.255.255.000
gateway.192.168.000.001
1st dns.008.008.004.004
2nd.dns.208.067.222.222

save it , then reboot the box and check again

tried it still nothing, where does the login id originate from,im wondering if its a faulty box

as I stated earlier in post #12 , it originates from your mac code

when you see it , you will see 250MC and then the last 10 characters of your mac code , which you have already checked

are you reading ALL the info I am typing or just a portion of it ?

its the patch that uses it for the login , not the box , maybe you should factory reset it , repatch it , factory reset yet again , then do all the above once more

In an earlier post i listed the soft and hardware files on spiderbox can you let me know if they are the correct ones

echelon

the date of the patch (15nov2011) indicates you have patched it , and is the only relevant part of that info

I dont own a 9900 so cannot confirm or deny the rest of that info

clearly the box has a mac code and the ethernet is working giving that mac code an ip address

its the patch that transfers that mac code into the login ID (the login etc isnt in the official firmware)

so clearly it is not a box fault, most people who buy something new always assume the box is faulty when things dont go to plan

the login ID issue was discussed in great detail last year in our ethernet forum here on satpimps , and elsewhere , with various tricks to try to get it to register

my thoughts are that you did not patch it correctly in the first place, with 2 factory resets , one before and one after patching , which is why I suggested starting again

once the code has transferred from the mac code into the login ID section , it can be registered and then will work ok

Press Menu
Go to Network Menu
You'll see a blue bar at the top that displays type: off
Use the < > buttons on remote to change to on and press ok.
Go to IP Setup press ok

You should see IP address.

Tell us what the IP address is showing.

echelon suggests i reinstall 2 patches and it would be really helpfull if i knew what patches they are and where to find them

no echelon did not say that at all, he said perform a factory reset , reload the 15 nov 2011 patch and then perform another factory reset

that is 2 factory resets and 1 patch ( the patch you said you used right at the beginning of your thread )

6 hours and counting without a reply from the OP.

Real intensive care given from the mods.

But see OP is no longer online nor given a reply/feedback to those that helped with his predicament or if the problem was solved or just gave up.:20:

Will just say keep up the good work echelon and hda5:respect-046::respect-046::respect-046:

I dont see any valid legal reason under the sale of goods act for sending anything back in the story so far

from what I can see you have a problem when patching it , nothing else

and you have already been told what to do in order to patch it , AND there are guides in the GUIDES AND FAQ section here that fully explain it anyway

as for patches , you use the 15 november patch (11-15k) for your box from the firmware section , thats all , just the one , nothing else

What make/model router are you using?
Are you stating that the Login ID is blank or just greyed out?
Usually when the Login ID is blank it is because it can't connect to the server, which is usually down to a problem with the router, as you state that you can use the receiver to watch You Tube this can't be your problem.
Try doing a factory reset, re-loading the patch, ensure you're using the 9900 one and not the 9000 one, then do another factory reset, go into the menu, Network, press 1111 and see if you have a Login ID, before loading a channel list or any other software.

The patch i use is Spiderbox_HD_9900_1115_K.zip‎ .The login is blank,i have tried everything but still wont do what it should,I, used to have a 9000,and that loaded without any problem so its not as if im a novice at this,

you should be using 22/12 patch not the November one

echelon

you should be using 22/12 patch not the November one

it should work with either patch , the december patch is only for those accessing 30w , and clearly states its not required unless accessing 30w

As you have owned a Spiderbox before, and used it successfully, I assume using the same router, and set up, then I think we can narrow down the problem.
Have you tried the factory reset and re-loading the patch?
The only other reason, I can think of, as we have now taken the router out of the picture, is that the MAC Address is incorrect, as you have checked this I suggest you contact your supplier, who can help resolve the problem.

Yes i think thats probably the best advise which would be to contact the supplier ,I watch mostly astra 1 and hotbird
thanks for everyones help
