1. factory reset does not reset anything
2. Xcam starts, but when i go back into plug-in, its not running
the line i was given is C: *****l.no-ip.org 8989 ****** ******
do i change this in anyway when i copy it to the cardcleint.conf files?
In short, i am looking to wipe my box and start a fresh, is there anyway round this if the factory reset does not work.

I have edited your post as u are posting a active c-line for some reason?
Factory reset will reset your channel settings and system data but not you plugin's or plugin data.
If you want to delete your plugin's use the format user data(green button) when you load the new plugin(in the plugin section).
To enter your C-line use the Xcam config. To enter the your details where there are stars enter the pin 0000.

got it wooo hooo, lines just needed uploaded in a different layout.
I'm having a similar problem, trying to configure the cardclient.conf via ftp using DCC or xcamconfig, what do you mean by "uploaded in a different layout. ", any help would be appreciated.

This has been answered many times but to repeat the answer.
The C line in an Icecrypt looks like this "ccam2:your_server.dyndns.com:1200 0:0/0/0:user:Password"
I would recommend using a ftp client like filezilla rather than DCC to edit the cardclient.conf
I just edit in a text editor and upload.
Finally working :)
Thank you for your help
