If you mean free 3D channels then no, There are other channels that are testing showing continuous loops but thats about it

you ask ..Is 3D TV worth it ...for me it is as i can see lots of Movies,Demo's and football etc.. in 3D and in perfect quality ..ive had my 3D TV 14 months now and i dont and never will regret buying it .

BBC are going to show the 100m from the Olympics in 3D but say the number of people with 3D TVs is too small to do more than the odd trial.

Their are 2 type of 3D (Active) and (Passive)

With Active 3D you more or less have to sit
directley in front of the set, and at the same
hight to the center of the screen to get
the best out of 3D
That's the reason you only get 1 or 2 pair's
of glasses (£90 a pair) need batterys, or
hard wired to set.

With Passive 3D you can sit on the floor, stand
to the side of the set, thats why you get 7 pair's
of 3D classes (only £2 a pair), No Battery's required.

If it 3D channels your after, look for a 3D set that
upscales a 2D picture (BBC NEWS) to 3D.

mate where do you live LOL, i had a 3D active set when they first came out in 2010 sent it back due to a fault granted glasses where not cheap £45 and not £90 where that price comes from no idea.

Since then i have had a Passive LG 55" great 3D on the cheap but not on a par with a 3D active set so that went back, I have tried sets from sony, panasonic and Samsung as well.

Just again settled on my samsung 59" 3D active glasses now are £19.99 and prices are falling all the time.

And again on an active set you can sit anywhere i have tried it from 90° angles and its still great from below or from the top looking down, I think you will find its the Passive sets that do not allow any viewing angles above 45° above or below or they start ghosting badly, Trust me i tried it when i had the LG.

My advice get active it blows passive out of the water on Blu Ray 3D, Passive still to this day cannot show a true 1080p 3D image although LG promised it sometime last year it still has not emerged.

Hi BF,

don't use the upscaling at all really as most of my viewing is HD anyway the odd time i watch a match if its in SD the quality is not bad it all depends on the quality of the broadcast also.

The price has gone up for that TV i paid £1080 when it was on offer in Costco with the same 5 year guarantee the only difference is costco do a 90 day no quibble return as well with JL its 28 days.

Tried to watch it lying down and it still works only one i have not tried is standing on my head LOL.

You would be better seeing it in the flesh and trying it for yourself really before a purchase, But i have had mine now about 3 months and i love it Picture quality in HD is outstanding once you calibrate it.

@digicon what settings do you have your sammy on i have had mine since new year and when i watch hd dvds i sometimes get a wobble half way up the screen during fast scenes or when the camera pans accross its a 3d led 40inch d6500, also when watching hd channels on s@y the movement sometimes jumps like 2x speed then stops have you had any probs with yours?

Sorry Tally i cannot help you with that yours is an 40" LED 6500 mines 59" Plasma D6900 different specification again, so even if i gave you my settings they would not look right on your LED.

if you pop over to Avforums and do a quick search for your model they may have some calibrated settings for your model you could try and it would be worth while you having a browse while your there to see if anyone else is having the same problem.

For sports or problems with motion judder try the following:
Advanced menu-LED motion plus (standard and movie modes) Set to ON.

Pic menu-Motion plus set to either smooth for best quality or if problems with judder set to custom and tweak. I find that, as a previous post has mentioned, with the judder set to 10 and blur set around midway it settles everything down quite a bit and works pretty well.

Finally 3D settings. I find myself tweaking these to suit the content.

3d perspective (usually 0 but i've seen me tweaking it 1 either way depending on content, ie; sky 3d, blu ray etc etc.
3D optimisation (usually 0 also but whatever looks best for what you are watching).
2D-3D conversion (i dont really use as the Hd is just that good!!)
