View Full Version : Any recommendaions, which dvd writer to install on dreambox dm8000 hd

can anyone recommend which dvd writer i should install in my DREAMBOX dm8000

i wanted to install (INTERNAL) a fast and reliable dvd writer, and is there any other additional cables , adapters i may need,

I HAVE ALREADY ORDERED THESE CABLES ADAPTER I,M NOT SURE IF THEY ARE THE RIGHT ONES,

1) USB 2.0 to IDE SATA 2.5 3.5 Hard Drive Converter

2) SATA to 2 x Molex Dual Power Adapter Y Splitter Cable

3) 2 in 1 IDE to SATA / SATA to IDE Converter Adapter

(I brought it with hdd already installed)

Hi there
Are you aiming to put it inside or outside the DM 8000? It will go inside - there is a slot and you can then connect to the various points in the box motherboard and internal wiring. Look at the piccys and instructions on the D official website. I installed one from a certain electrics store beginning with M****** - £39 quid and it is quiet and works well - just occasionally making a little start up noise with dodgy discs!! LOL. It will not at present record in HD though - I must solve that.I should probably have put in a Bluray one for that!! Good Luck - Brain

Go for LG GT20N if still available, think the 40N is next in line
if using internal. 8x slimline optical drive-oem black. Although
it has a tray is quietest around. Though they are cheap better
than than 2 expensive ones I scrapped with a loss of over a £100
as couldn't stand the noise they made.
