First you must have your HDD installed and mapped via devices manager the follow these instructions.
Blue button x 2 > scroll down to UPnP Server Mediatomb press OK > then you will see instructions but really all you need to do is enable and away you go.
It realy was very easy to do and I can now from windows media player stream video and music from the box. The only problem I have left is access to the media folders on the pc, must be a setting on there will try tomorrow.
Cheers nml

You must share the folders on your PC that contain the media files you want to watch through your box. On the pc Right click on the folder goto properties/advanced/share folder.

Thanks mate but settings are different on windows 7. I have a VU+ Duo with the latest image installed, I also have a windows 7 pc upns enabled and folders shared with everyone, Sony bds-570 & Humax foxsat hdr running Twonky. The problem I have is that I have a lot of media files on my pc that I can access via dlna on the sony from which I can also access the Foxsat but not the Duo. But I can't access the pc from the duo but I can access the foxsat.
Any ideas? nml
Sorted, here is some information for others. I went on to the Meditomb site and read one of the faqs about ports.
It says to make sure that you firewall is allowing port 1900, so I checked the Mcaffee firewall and it was, however I also noticed it was not allowing port 20-21 and the box connects on port 21, so I enabled this and now it works perfectly.
Hope this helps someone else. nml
