Newbie Cross EPG

Hi

Just got my VU+Duo, fully loaded and running. I'm using the cross epg guide which seems okay. The only thing is I would like to change the appearance - for example can I adjust the size of the prog name column? Also the scale is so small that I struggle to read it (getting old I know!). Is there a way to adjust the scale or zoom in?

I've looked here and googled, and whilst there are many guides to install I can't find anything about configuration?

Tom,
The size of you epg guide will differ depending on what image you using have installed

for instance vix image will give you a epg guide that covers your full screen

use the font magnifier plugin.this works a treat.

i had the same problem and you can choose which parts of the epg guide you wish to enlarge,ultimately though,its probably best to use the cooltv guide anyway as this is much better.

Thank you Ian and Compass for your replies. I am using the vix image so I guess Compass you know exactly my problem as you're using it too. I'm not confident enough yet to try to replace the Cross epg with the cooltv guide as basically I don't have a clue how to do it! While I build up some knowledge i'm going to have a go at installing the font magnifier.

I'll let you know how I get on.....probably badly!

I've had a look for the font magnifier in the plugins, but it is not listed - could you perhaps pm me the plug in - I would also be very grateful for an install guide please?
I've also had a look at the cool tv guide which you have listed, but being a newbie I wouldn't know where to start with the uninstall then install process?

Have you tried prssing OK then red to bring up a single channel EPG. Still small lettering but might be easier from some to see.

I only use this method to look at the EPG. You can zip through the single channel very quickly with the left /right arrow keys and then move to the next channel with the channel + & - keys.

And then use the green key to quickly set up a timer.

the font magnifier plugin can be obtained from the ts panel buddy.

but of course if you dont have that installed then you will have to install the ts panel first.

cooltv guide doesnt replace cross epg mate,it just allows you to view the data that cross epg has downloaded through a different medium.

heres the latest ts panel 4.8

extract the file with winrar then ftp the ipk to tmp

then do a manual install

restart your gui and you will then have the ts panel in your plugins.
enter it and download and install the font magnifier plugin.

Press Epg button followed by menu now you will see all options available
Here are a few examples that mine are configured to

Items per page 8/16
Event font size 18/30
Left font size 20/30
Time line font size 20/30
Left width picon 110/250
Left width text 190/250
Time scale 180/300
skip empty services no

I have now adjusted my epg setting to get something I can actually read!! The only thing is when I checked back through the epg settings menu it read epg location as internal flash. I have a usb in the back - have I managed to demount it?

Menu>setup>system> EPG>settings>
EPG Location mine is set /media/hdd (yours probably should be /media/usb)

if you need to mount your USB

Menu>setup>VIX>Mount Manager then follow on screen instructions

For some reason the box wasn't seeing the usb. A restart sorted it out. For some reason s.y is only now and next. I'm pretty sure everything is correct in the Rytec selections as i've ticked the uk providers and the uk open providers too. Any idea why its not seven days?

i prefer open epg as it populates from the satellite itself
skyuk_astra2_28.2

just tick the 28.2 east one
and i get a full EPG on sky
