s3500 incorrect recording

hi all

i have just got an icecrypt 3500hdcc1, pointed it at 19.2 and all is going well

except when i record a program through the epg. when i playback the recording i get an 'incorrect recording' message after trying different hard drives I now think it is to do with the epg

straight after recording, the program will play back but the next day, i get that message up and if i check the epg it only starts from after that program

i have searched this forum and google but no one seems to be having this problem which makes me wonder if its something i have done wrong

my epg seems very erratic as to what channel lists appear

any help or pointers would be appreciated (i have not updated my firmware as i wouldnt of thought something like this would be a firmware problem)

What file system is your hard drive mounted as? And yes, my recommendation would be to update your firmware as that could iron out some problems. Have you ftp'd across from pc to see if your able to copy the recording over and playback on pc?

the hard drive is formatted as NTFS (i formatted it on a pc although i have tried letting the s3500 do the formatting and that did not work either)

i have ftp'd the files over and tried to play them with VLC media player, and it just sat there doing nothing so i assume the files are not working (tried changing the file extension to .avi in case that helped and it did not)

will try a firmware update when i get in tonight

when i try to ftp through windows ie9 it asks for a username and password - i put in root and pass which seems to work but i get no folders up just 'welcome to HDPVR', if i use filezilla i then get acces to all the folders

thanks blackmumba, the firmware update seems to have done the trick, the program i recorded last night was still playable this morning

unfortunately, i seem to be having ftp problems now, i was unable to copy the file over the network to the PC but will try a few things first before i come crying for help again
