Hi i wonder if anyone can help. Ive just bought an icecrypt and im having trouble inserting a cline.
Ive installed xcamconfigure and xcamclient.
When i go to xcamconfigure, i select CCCAM2, then i enter the server and port number, but it will not allow me to select the option to insert username or password??
If i access the cardconfig file via var/etc/protect im not sure how to insert the line manually.
this is what my cccam.cfg says from my openbox...
C: cccam.server.com 4668 user_pass www.server.com no { 0:0:3 }. how can i translate this to a xcam line?
lastly if i just enter the server and port number forgetting the username and password, then attempt to start thexcamclient, it tells me "cannot start any client, please check cardclient.conf or network connection. Im at a loss...
thanks for any help in advance

you will find examples of lines in the sticky threads or tools section at the top of the forum
here is an example of my xcam line on my 4000s
cccam2:server.host.com:12345:0/0/0:Name1:Password1
all c lines have a c , then the host site , then the port , then name , then password , ignore the rest
most ports are 5 digit so you may need to start yours with a zero ( 0 )
so port 9988 would become 09988
I always use ftp to sort mine out

thanks for the reply, i did read that and it did say mcas is for unscrambling channels, but its not clear whether you need to run it when using xcam. Plus any idea why my box would say "cannot start any client, please check cardclient.conf or network connection"
thanks

what is clear when reading it is that you use mcas if running a card , or if running ucas with a softcam , so in those 2 scenarios you run it
the reason using it with xcam isnt mentioned is they are 2 different scenarios and dont apply to xcam , just the same as mgcamd isnt related to cccam
if you are not inputting all the correct info into xcam (which you clearly said you arent) then its not surprising that you get an error message complaining that the client cannot start
if you do things incorrectly you are bound to fail , and/or get error messages

think you press 0000 on password and it then allows you enter your details this is if you are using your remote and the same for username
hope this help
