advice on latest software HD premium

Hi, been away from the sat scene for over 2 yrs, just discovered by HD premium in the loft. I no longer have my motorised dish but thought about using the box for recording freesat from 28.2 deg. What is the best image to use as I am out of touch?

Well for me the latest RSI on my premium does not work correctly, it records but playback freezes the box after about 2 sec requiring a reboot to bet the box to work again. I tried everything, re-flash the kernel and image...still the same. Loaded SPaze 2.2 no problem. recording works, timeshift is OK and the the lipsync to my AV amp is spot on! Not the fastest as regards menu and channel change, but for me it works.

I followed the tutorial on the openrsi page and managed to flash the firmware direct from the url over the net.
I had difficulty trying to record programs so I tried to format the internal HDD I had installed ( a samsung 1TB) that worked before. When it asks: do you want to initialise disk I pressed YES but nothing happened. Now the azbox will see the HDD but I cannot access any files or record to it. If I try to record the message: "no HDD or not initialised" appears.

How can I format the hard drive? Tried to format a usb 4gb stick (formatted in FAT32 on my PC) or record but not work.
How can I use an external usb drive to record and how do I format?

Format the internal HDD with your PC. I take easeus (http://www.partition-tool.com/landing/home-download.htm) to format in ext3.

Sorted out the hard drive but it will not record! The box shows it is recording (cog wheels turn in display) but box freezes and u have to reboot, the recording is lost.

Try another image like Spaze 2.2

RTI Core 1.7 works fine for me, but it's not perfect.
