patch problem

I have just downloaded the latest patch for tm5402 from here,installed it into the box via menu-usb-data transfer. and it took about 2 mins and said successfull, yet when i press the ip button or 8281 i get nothing. do i need to download any add-ons for these to work.
any help would be much appreciated
