adding hardive problem

using blackhole 1.72
trying to add external usb hardrive
go to device manager
hardisk 500gb
mount/media/ usb
device/dev/sda1

and then when trying to record says hdd full
any ideas

Does your Eternal USB HDD have it's own power supply? I doubt the VU's USB ports will be able to supply sufficient power to run the HDD by itself.
Have you tried to format it from the VU+?
Have you downloaded and installed the latest drivers for the image you are using?

Not got a HDD myself and not using BH but is there no way to format the drive in the image, if so you coud try that.
