not sure about your box but all I do is edit the cardclient.conf and put in the c line in the icecrypt format (not cccam format) and start xcam on my 4000
maybe you did not put them into the conf file using the correct syntax ?

well as I said I am not sure if you can use the cccam format or not
I am using the xcam format
maybe you need to read the site more seeing as you are new here ?
ps:- no idea why you have a WS in your c line either
you appear to be using a newcs format there , but with 14 missing
so its more like an N line and not a C line

i changed the format to cccam2:hostname:Port:0/0/0:username:Pass and i just get the cannot start any client when starting the xcam client
i've read quite a bit, is the format above (the cccam2 one) correct?

post 2 here https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?132517-How-to-use-newcs-in-xcam-%28and-cccam-and-newcamd-too%29 has the details as I updated it today
so I would have expected it to look something like this
cccam2:host.gotdns.com:12000:0/0/0:User1:Pass1
whereas a standard c line looks like this
c line
c:host.dyndns.org 15000 User1 Password1

thats what it looks like
do you think the fact i cant get the config plugin to run has anything to do with it, do i need to run the flash cleaner?

obviously you missed my posts where I stated I do not know your box !
mine is a 4000 as I stated earlier, but I believe the plugins work for various boxes , as would the correct syntax
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?154030-Icecam-Plugin-bundle is the one I am using

so how do you know this line works ? does it work on another box ?
and how do you know the network is running between your box and your router ? can you ftp into it ?

yes i can ftp to it fine its the only way i can enter my cline details, im pretty sure as i've tried a couple of test lines and same result, unfortunately i don't have another box to check them, im pretty sure its a problem my end though. don't know why the mcamd config plugin isnt working either thats what makes me think i need to completely reset the box

I would have thought you installed that plugin the same way as me , using a usb stick with a folder called plugin containing those files ?
assuming you did , all you do is add the c line into the conf file before installation , format the user data area first , then install the plugin
the other day I used the restore file on my 4000 using porter , and then formatted the user data area and installed the plugin wiyth my conf file amended
obviously you can ftp in and use the ftp program to edit it on site
I would ensure your firmware is up to date and if necessary reflash it clean , format the user data area and start again (if its like my 4000)
I am also unsure why you showed your line in newcs format earlier , that would indicate an N line, not a C line

and can you use an nline? i thought both could be used the same in the conf file

and can you use an nline?
if a server supplies you an n line , then yes you can use them , but usually its a c line
what confused me is you talking about c lines and then pasting most of an N line
that sticky thread shows full details on using n lines , I added a lot of info on c lines to it today, from the tools section posts

right reflashed updated firmware and plugins, can start the xcam config plugin and its showing the details correctly so im guessing they are right in the conf file but i still get the same issue. Would it have anything to do with the network settings or anything that needs changing on the router??

to receive an n or c line you dont need anything special , just a valid router lan ip address (as proved if you can ftp into the ice) and internet access
so no I dont see why you need anything special, just a local lan ip address from the router
