If the new firmware allows the epg to work in the background on 28.2 how do you get it working? Tried the express epg option and doing a page at a time but doesnt seem to have worked i have selected to save it to usb.

You havn't said which box you are using, I can only comment on the 6000.
It works as a background activity when the box is in standby (not deep power off) after doing a download via the open epg option. If you do a deep power off overnight you have to put the box in standby the next day for it to auto update.

Works OK for me to. It's a big improvement and nice to be able set up to record in advance.

The 7 day EPG is populating OK. However the programme synopsis is NOT. All it has is "No short event information". Is it my s3500
or are others experiencing the same problem.

I agree with your observation to some extent but I do get a programe synopsis on some channels but not all

does it only update in standby or whilst on aswell?

For me it only works when the box is in standby. This is probably due to the fact I only have one sat tuner (the other one being a freeview HD tuner).
maybe the Ice can comment on this

Confirmed with me too - epg ok but only some have programme info. Bug.
