its doesnt matter what i do i cannot get this new version to show as 5.2 like in your pictures.

i couldnt ask you in your thread cause youve locked it,but does yours show as 5.2?

ive completely uninstalled and manually removed all the folders but still no joy.

everything seems to work,but when i go to update it still states that 5.2 needs to be installed,even though ive just done it from your ipk.

any thoughts on this bud?

I just updated using ts panels built in update.

I was on 4.9 and it says there is an update 5.2 avaliable, but after it's installed it shows as 5.1 and still tells you there is a 5.2 update avaliable.

I take that back, if you look at top left it shows as 5.1 still.

But if you go into Addon's and then tunisiasat addon's under tspanel it shows green next to 5.2 update.

I am new to this, how do I install on VU+ Ultimo?, I am trying to install using FTP and it won't log on. I am using File Zila(FZ) on Windows 7 and my VU IP as host add and SFTP (ssh file transfer protocol). Logon is normal. User is the name i use on Network Browse & mountpoints (CIFS hard-disk) and the password. When I click connect on FZ it says open "my username@ my VU IP add.........." 22 then it says PASS after that it says authentication failed, critical error and could not connect to server. Where am I going wrong??

Ok mates, Since updating to VIX 3.0 the TS panel has stopped with magic number error. I am a member of the image site and reported the error and was told to contact the TS team for an update. Anyone know if there is a version that works with VIX 3.0? Thanks.

Trying to load this on to my v+ uno with latest blackpole image by ftping to tmp directory and pressing green then yellow buttons on remote and Selecting Manually install IPK file but keep getting an error and won't install.
Any idea what could be wrong?

open your FTP program and navigate to

/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/

then completely delete the tspanel folder then reboot

now find and download tspanel version 6.0 and send the ipk to tmp and instal manually then restart the gui

now enter tspanel and update to the latest version 6.5 using the online update from the plugin itself.

job done.

Then Click on Telnet Tab on DCC and paste in the following command

opkg install -force-overwrite /tmp/enigma2-plugin-extensions-tspanel_6.4_mipsel.ipk

then press enter

I have a completely different problem.
TS Panel 6.4 reports installed successfully (although there is a complaint about permission) .
But when I go in the menu to the Plugins I get an error message on
Some extensions are not available.
Extensions/TSPanel (Bad magic number in ....Extensions/TSPanel/___init___.pyo

Anybody having an idea of the cause of the problem and how to fix it?

bad magic number is usually down to the wrong python version being installed.

insure you have the correct version for you image.

then follow my instructions in post number 9 and install it that way.

by the way,6.4 is not the latest version and if you follow my instructions in post number 9 you will then have the latest version installed.

Thanks for the info.
I use image VTi 4.2.4 on a VU+ Ultimo and I have tried TSPanel 6.0, TSPanel 6.4 OE1.6 (which I believe should be the correct one) but also TSPanel 6.4 OE2.0 just in case.
And I did follow the instructions in post 9.
Regardless I get the same error. Bad magic number..

When I install TSPanel there is one message I have not seen in earlier installs;
'line 25: /etc/rc3.d/899cron: Permission denied'
I am not a Linux guy so i do not know if it may have something to do with it.

I am just guessing that there are still some residue lurking in some folder from a trial to install with a wrong version.

UPDATE: after some testing and reinstall of fresh image I still have the same problem regardless of which version of TSPanel I try to install
I have further tried the same with the VTi image 4.2.3 and it gives the same result.
I'll see if I can get some info out of the VTi team.

I do not know if there are reports of it affecting any other receivers.

I was one of those affected and had to reflash my vu to get back my HDD. Luckily, all recordings were still accesible.

Yes there are reports of problems with vix images so best avoided if this is your image choice although ive never had the problems myself in solo or solo2 using vix. With Blackhole and the other open alliance images there does not seem to be any problems, the same can be said about openpli who have tspanel available in their feeds.

This is because you already had the previous version installed so the files that need overwritten to complete the installation were already present. You could have saved yourself the trouble of downloading and sending the file to /tmp by simply updating from within the plugin btw. If you attempted to install it on a freshly installed image the same way that worked for you this time the installation would fail..... this is why installation instuctions are provided.

The Blackhole 2.0.1 was a new
USB flash image with no
TSpanel in the Image.

The thing was, VUCC IPK
Installer would not install
any version of TSPanel it
kept saying
(Error, This file already exists).
tried from 4.5 ver with no luck
on B/Hole 2.0.1.

No problem with B/Hole 2.0.0
Installed TSPanel 4.5, then
updated to TSPanel 6.8.
