Box doesnt respond from remote

Wonder why the box doesnt responds on pressure from the remote?
Got the remote control changed and has new battery in it.
Have tried to change the box to another location where no flat-panel or other wireless devices may interfere with the signal from the remote but the remote respons badly there too
need to press several times for something to happens with the box

What can this be and what can you do about it?

First find out if the remote is transmitting properly. If your mobile phone has a video camera, turn it on and point the remote towards it. While pointing at the camera, press any button from your remote and you should see from your phones screen a blinking light. What happens is that your remote transmits light in the infra-red region. Human eyes cannot detect light in that region, your cameras video sensors can though.
