Hiya guys

Quick Q, do you need special gear to view these feeds...?

Wanted to try out some feeds after repairing my 1.2m dish (polar mount rusted out) and although the meter says the arc is spot on, I'm getting nothing for both these frequencies..

Are you UK based?

I've got 90% signal off these sats, but dick all when scanning those 2 feeds lol

I'm not bothered about watching westlife, just annoyed the TM-Twin is unable to even scan the services..

Cheers

beamobhoy
23-06-2012, 09:47 PM
based in retford, notts with a 1mtr dish getting a 56% signal rate - no special equipment as it's 4.2.0 feed - where you based?

Coolguy121

central southern coast of the UK

I'm guessing it's the TM-Twin OE as TM have no clue how to make a linux receiver sadly :(

DVB S2 QPSK ...So unless you have HD sat box which im guessing you do not then you continue to see nothing im afraid .
most feeds these days require High def sat reciever so probably you should think of an upgrade if you wanna pick up feeds like this one ,

You've not owned a Twin have you :D

It struggles to control its tuner (if you leave the manual tuning section and return to watch a channel from the vhannibal list, theres no signal until you force it to another sat and back again)

What I mean is, the linux drivers are so bad that you can't compare it to a closed source receiver that at least does what you expect it to..

If you use the satfinder part (where you can simply look for a signal on a given frequency) it pulses between 89% locked and 0% unlocked..

We're all waiting for the VIX team to release a decent image for it as these IQ images are fookin shiite :(

Thanks for confirming it should be working though. It's another bit of ammunition I have against TM..

EDIT:
Didn't see that new post
Yes it's a Twin tuner HD box

let's put it this way, they released the TM800HD and then forgot to support it with a decent image..
(+ they used the wrong chipset in it which signalled its death as no driver in the world can polish a turd)

Then they released the TM-Twin OE and did the same again..[although they did use decent h/w this time]

TM constantly lie about releasing images for it and fail. Recently they've been shamed into releasing new drivers which are at least being used to create better, more reliable images. We're waiting on the VIX team to release their efforts for it and have a fellow user that likes to play and create himself over on digit al worldz [thankfully]

watchting it on tm 6900 hd in doncaster 76% 120 cm dish bang on

so that's 20% extra for an extra 20cm over 20 miles - nice!

edit: tm6900 now reads 70% and my azbox states 66%

It's got issues too. A new image is due shortly so we'll see how it goes..

clear line out no trees or houses
I've since confirmed with my meter that a strong signal is present on both those frequencies so it's the image on the Twin :(

I just forgot it's 4:2:2 that needs the pro receiver (or stream to pc)

Feed is Finshed now so probably pointless trying ...but here is what my DM800 SE HD says for PIDS information for this feed its still Active as i type .. but probably will be gone soon just showing some old video promo clips at the moment ..

Audio PID = 0x010 ( 256d )
Video PID = 0x0134 ( 308d )
PCR PID = 0x1ffe ( 8190d )
PMT PID = 0x0020 ( 32d )
TXT PID = N/A
TSID = 0x0002 ( 1d )
ONID = 0xfff ( 65535d )
SID = 0X001 ( 1d )

I did try but found no signal (I assume that was for 0.8W lol)

Funny how I can watch every other channel on these satellites [even in the pouring rain] :confused:

Perhaps the twin just doesn't like Westlife :D (strange how it didn't play ball on either sat though)

I was able to add a feed on 16E [Tahir Square] so it's not me lol..

Just a downer considering the time I spent repairing the polar mount, replacing the jack and ensuring the dish tracked 53E to 45W perfectly only to then discover the Twin has yet another issue :cuss:

I have signals from all the 33 Ku-Band sats between E&W, even the weaker stuff like AlJazeera Sports on 3.1E so it remains a bit of a mystery (for now)

Thanks for taking the time to help though and I hope you enjoyed your concert :p

i posted a few other decent live feeds few mins ago here in feed hunter section for you to try ,
i am using DM800 SE HD box and i never seem to have any trouble getting whatever feeds are out there ,
im currently watching Fox Soccer Channel USA feed on 7 east From Miami Florida Sun life Stadium so if you enjoy football you should really like that feed : )
or the Golf Feed is nice quality on 10 east from Monteral Canada so hopefully you have some success with them ?
and not to panic there is always excellent quality live Fta feeds about on various sats thats the real beauty about this hobby whether its a live Concert / football/golf/wrestling etc.. you will always have some great Free TV so dont be too dissapointed if you find few feeds that you cant get thats what really makes this hobby worthwhile and fun it does for me at least : )
