I have this set-up. Firstly ensure that your Tenda is set to "Client+AP mode" using the wizard when the Tenda is plugged into your PC. Scan to ensure that the Tenda correctly connects to the O2 router via wifi. Do a save (the Tenda then reboots) and you are done. If you have a lappy then turn the wifi off on the lappy and plug the Tenda into the LAN socket to ensure that it works. Once you have got this far the SB should definitely work. Hope this helps.

its picking the o2 router up ok but i must be doing something wrong after that as its not working in lappy with the wi fi turned off

Did you complete all the steps in the wizard? You should firstly scan for the O2, select it, provide the pass key, it should then reboot the Tenda (which you can watch on the PC screen) then re-present a log-in for the Tenda web page. Have you been all the way through that? If so then you are set up. When you plug it in the either the lappy or the SB (suggest the lappy until you have success here) the two blue lights should (eventually) show, the Power and the Client+AP - then you SHOULD be working. If not then I am at a loss, unless you have something wierd (like mac filtering) in the router.

I do know that the only mistake I made with mine was changing the wifi band in my router AP and losing my Tenda. That is because (unlike the Vonet device) the Tenda had the band set in the configuration, so changing it was not a problem for the Vonet but lost the Tenda connection (hence my suggestion to scan for it - that way the band is correctly picked up).

a couple of things to point out here

a) its not a spiderbox issue, its a networking issue, clearly it would work if using a directly wired ethernet cable

b) if it doesnt allow you to connect using the laptop (with the laptop built in wifi turned off) then it definitely wont work on the spiderbox

the vonets requires you to set it up on the lappy first (or a desktop) and afterwards to connect to the satellite box or whatever
so I assume the Tenda is no different, requiring the owner to set it up on a pc first and to ensure it is working too

these items can be used to allow a variety of items to connect to a router and the internet using a wifi connection, including laptops, pc,s and satellite boxes

what are your security settings are they wep as shown in the video or wpa psk ?

I use wpa psk - because that is what my router AP, and all the other devices in my network use. But if you use scan in the wizard it will know what security your router uses and ask for the correct password or pass-key.

There is, of course, the possibility that your Tenda is broken! However, I would always advise that if wired connection is possible then use it - by far the best.

its picking up and asking me to use my o2 router so it must be going wrong after that
