Azbox stuck in starting mode

Ive got an azbox elite stuck with starting /etc/rc5.d on the display at bootup.

it doesn't get an ip from the router and I can't get it to recognise a patch.bin or patch.e2 on a usb stick.

Is there any way to get it into rescue mode with an ip address so I can reflash it?

What AZbox is it. What happened ? and what image is in it ?

Take Azup 2.2.6 and try it with it.

with my prem + i had a problem like this and i had to put it into rescue mode manually by turning box of with switch on back and then turning back on with the vol+ button on the front depressed

All sorted now. The vol+ button put it back to rescue mode so i could flash a new image.

It stopped booting after a crossepg update which must have been saved onto the flash instead of to a nas drive and corrupting the image somehow.
