Hi Guys,
Just received my new Spiderbox 9900 and I’m in the process of setting it up.

System Information:
Model: Spiderbox HD9900
S/W Version: 4.32, LDR: Ver 00.01
H/W Ver: Ver 01 00 RM PTC(ok)
Last Update: Mar 21 2012

I’ve been reading the forum posts on setting up a SB 9900 so I connected it to my network and YouTube is working etc. but I can’t find a field to enter the 1111 command and there is no NuevoXstream line in the NETWORK menu to register.

Will I have to load the Mar 21 patch, then factory reset etc. or will, I have to go back to the Nov patch first and then the Mar patch?

Any help will be greatly appreciated …

BB

Looks like the March patch is allready loaded (last update) , there is no field to enter 1111 into, just press 1111 after highlighting Network in the menu and all being well you should see Ethernet come up in the list, NuevoXstream is no longer active / relevant : full instructions here :https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?151927-simple-guide-to-setting-up-a-Spiderbox-HD

Thanks for info roybach ...

In the NETWORK dropdown menu I can see:

Type
Network
Net SW Download
Home Stream Servwer
YouTube
Download EPG Data

I tried highlighting NETWORK and keying 1111 from the remote but no sign of ETHERNET field!

Go back one menu; just HIGHLIGHT Network (don't select it) then key 1111.

Paulus, I've gone to the ACCESSORY menu which displays:

USB
Common Interface
Not Inserted
Not Inserted
NETWORK

I highlighted NETWORK and keyed 1111 then clicked on NETWORK to open it but there is no ETHERNET, just the same as in my previous post!

First you have you install the patch firmware. If you haven't done this already then you won't see
anything when keying 1111.

Install patch from

Cheers hda5,

Going to try that now ...

Loaded new patch and factory reset etc.

I can now see ETHERNET in the drop down menu which I have opened and turned ON.
I now have a Login ID (15 digit code)
Connection Status is showing "Connected" and Register below that, but no "Registration Successful" messages.

Do I just wait?

If it says connected it's done and ready to use. Now setup your satellites and download your channels and your done.

Am I correct in turning on UCAS and UCAS Autoroll and

will I have to load the HD Softcam?

Yes, just load the HD softcam and turn on Ucas, this will give you the few extra channels where the keys are known.

I installed the file, turned on UCAS then tried Diema and Novasport on Hellas Sat 39E but they both were dark.

Is it because the file I used was Spiderbox HD Softcam 21-07-2012 which is over a month old and the keys require updating?

BB

yes, you used an old file which is out of date

the latest file is 05/08/2012 by compass

Can anyone tell me when to use Reset Key Data which is in the Key Edit menu;
Do you use the Reset before applying new updated keys?

Just going to finish completing the setup of my new Spider but I,ve noticed in the Network drop down menu:

Type ON
Network Ip Setup
Client 01 --- 10 (OFF)
Net S/W d/load
Home Stream Svr
You Tube
D/load EPG data
Home Plus
Ethernet
Newcamd Svr Setup Server 1 - Not Installed
Derver 2 - Not Installed

Can you tell me if these settings are correct to work in conjunction with the gift?

check the one listed under ETHERNET near the bottom of your list above

if that says CONNECTED inside then the "gift" is working ok

Busterbee

Yes Echelon, it says CONNECTED and also there is a 15-digit Login ID key.

Just as a precaution, is it possible to endanger the gift by any process of Factory Reset or installing new firmware eg?

So long as you don't change your login ID everything will be fine. You are advised to make a note, of your Login ID, andf keep it safe, just in case, but it should also be on the inside of your Spiderbox.
Relax and check out all the new channels, on various satellites, that you can now view.

BB

no , but just make a note of your mac code in the router ip settings in NETWORK , or on a label inside the front flap, or on the motherboard looking through the vents

Cheers for that info also. I am connected to.

Is there a way to fine tune a sat while watching a channel like you could do with the old Technomate 1500? Also, why does it say 25% for strength & quality in motor setup and quality you back out to a channel and it completely different?

Mickha

What do you mean by fine tune? Do you mean the signal strength, and quality, by moving the motor?
If using Usals the just alter your longitude settings slightly, if using Diseqc 1.2 then you move the motor using the arrow keys then store the satellite.

Yes thats what I mean but the fine tune in the spiderbox moves the motor in very big jumps rather than little tweaks. I remember reading a post which I can't find now with someone having the same problem after they applied the software update.

I am using Diseqc 1.2 atm due to my dish being slightly out of line and its too stormy these days to go out and sort it.

Mickha

You can still try Usals, just keep changing your longitude, slightly, until you get it close to tracking the arc.
I seem to remember something similar, but this had to do with certain motors, which juddered using Usals, but worked normally when using Diseqc 1.2.
Are you sure the problem is with the Spiderbox? Could it be your dish moving, a loose connection, or even the motor?
