DM8000HD Issues

Hello folks,
I have recently bought Genuine DM8000HD. It has this (Enigma2 = 2012-07-06-3.2, Image = Release 3.2. 2011-09-29) image in flash.

1:- Bluray BD RW BD-5750H DVD drive is not playing any commercial dvd-moives or blurays-disks. I would just like my BD-5750H drive to play some DVDs which I bought from *MV.
I have connected it (BD-5750H DVD drive)to sata connector under the right side of hard disk i.e. I have not used usb to sata converter. When I click on DVD player it shows "BD RW BD-5750H" When I click on ok it shows folders AACS, BDMV & CERTIFICATE. When I go into those folders I can't see any playable media files. I have tried Bluray disks & normal DVDs with no luck.
Please can you tell me if there is an image or a way to watch commercial DVDs using above drive or do I have to buy something like Sony AD-7670S DVD RW drive?

1.1:- I am trying to install BA 6.5.21 on CF as the latest one BA 7.4 does not work with this image. It now shows below error when I try to install it using Telnet as I don't know how to install ipk in the DBox menu/blue panel.

1.2:- BA 6.5.21 was installed on HD before. I initialized HD and unmounted it I then initialized Compact flash card and mounted manually as /media/cf as it was automatically mounting it as /media/Compact Flash. I deleted movie folder form /media/cf. I deleted /hdd from media to make sure BA 6.5.21 is fully uninstalled and then tried to install BA on CF as I don't want it on HD but with same above error message.

1.3:- As I mounted CF as /media/cf now whenever I restart the DB it unmounts CF and shows it as not connected and also shows another CF that needs to be mounted. Why?

1.4:- The reason why I removed BA from HD is because I had flashed Nemesis2.6 as 2nd flash image using BA6.5.21. I changed the timezone to London in Nemesis2.6 and saved it. I restarted the box it boots then shows below green crash screen message. It goes into a loop i.e. box never shows picture but green screen again and again with the same message that is why I had to remove BA.

1.5:- I am sick and tired of BA if you can please recommend an image that I can install in internal flash in my DB that gives you below options:
1) Cross EPG or 7 days EPG.
2) CCAM 2.1.1 (easily accessible using blue panel menu)
3) Internal HD/CF/USB work flawlessly with it.
4) Dark Motor works fine with it.
5) Loads of plugins/Kerni HD1 Skin.
6) Latest Driver download option available in Menu.
7) Latest Image update option available in Menu.
8) TS Panel works with it.
9) Fan Control 2 works with it.
This is so that I don't have to flash new images every other day. My box is down because of BA and because I wanted to keep factory image in internal flash.
What about Ozone or CVS images?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

OoZooN 3.2.2 (OE1.6)will do all the above - apart from the BD drive
BD works (so the bull$it says) in OE2.0 - but bugger all else does!
I use - HD for recording, CF for Picons and USB for EPG data - works just fine
Have a DVD drive in it, used it once! I use the network.

I have got OoZooN 3.2.2 installed and Glassy utility.
1) When I try to watch HD channels of one sat it says Tune failed ( I can see the SNR going down from 85 to 50 to 0 in the info bar) and same channel SD works fine but not HD. When I had Nemesis2.6 in my flash those HD channels worked fine. When I watch HD channels on other sats they are ok. Why?
2) When I click on bouquet to select a different channel it shows Providers list i.e it does not show the channel list. Is there a way to stop it going to Providers.
3) How to Telnet box to Restart GUI only.

Hi guys
I was interested in this thread not for my 8000 but the 7020HD cos I posted a thread re the BA problem in the 7020HD line which is identical to the 8000 one stated here and to date I still cannot get BA installed so have given up. Oozoon certainly would not work with BA in this instance and neither will latest DE images. It does everything else including reading from the 8000 downstairs but the BA is defeating me atm.

Yup - I am beginning to find that but having got most of the 8000 under control - [with some early patient help from you I remember] - I was bored and wanted another challenge - I am not that bright with some technology - LOL. Its another great box though and works well in the bedroom and reads well from the 8000 downstairs saving another hdd!! Cheers - Brain

I have done that both Tuners are showing same results (HD channels on 0.8w, 4.8e, 9.0e, 19.2e are not working but on 13.0e they are working) . I connected the cable to DM800 Clone and the HD channels work fine I think it is an image issue. I will delete the glassy utility and see if it makes a difference. Is there any other image you recommend as I can't live without HD. lol

When I search single transponder for HD channels it does not pick them up. It did pick them when I searched single sat yesterday.

did you turn box off & on again once it was all set up?
reason - box NEEDS a restart

did you transfer existing settings to the box - dreamboxedit?
reason - the newly created /etc/enigma2/settings file
is not backwardly compatible with older versions of the file
if you overwrite it - your'e screwed

you really need to say exactly what u did - so u can get help!

Just a thought here and I am probably talking off the top of my head but the 8000 is strangely finicky in its pick up of channels. With all the changes ie DVB-S and S2 and 8PSK/QPSK and fec values it is essential to have them absolutely right at times. eg there is an Fec 3/5 and one 3/4 and even this number has made a difference for me in the past as to loading in or not when searching. Do check whatever HD ones you are looking for have not changed too - eg meridien ITVHD this last week good Luck - Brain

i would try:
put your dm8k on a 7e hd channel
disconnect the cable - connect it to you other box, ensure u have a signal
swap cable back & see if you get any signal
that remove a possible change diseqc problem

I have installed "DreamboxUK_v2.1.1_DM8000" image and all HD channels are working fine.
1) The only issue is the image automatically mounted HD at /dev/sda1 (mount point: /media/hdd) but failed to mount CF and USB. I can't see them in the Menu so that I can initialize and mount them.
2) I am also looking for a good resource for Picons of 0.8w, 4.8e, 9.0e, 13.0e, 19.2e & 28.2e.

1) There is no Storage devices option there. I have been searching for Storage Devices plugin (.ipk) on the web.
2) How do you send Picons files (.PNG) to DB.
3) Can you open a webpage and click somewhere on that web age to watch a movie online?

I flashed OooZoon. Installed Fancontrol 2 plugin. The HD channels were ok at this time. I installed TS Panel 3.1.ipk & used DBedit to send bouquets (I removed settings file before I transferred the bouquets) - Reboot DB. Now the same issue with HD channels is back.
I can't check 7.0e HD cause my motor is not connected.

I think it is DB Edit. I tried sending 2 TV files (userbouquets.movies_tv_ & userbouquets.sports_tv_) to the box using DBEdit. It showed error: no "lamedb" file found can't send files (something like that) I then sent 3 files including the "lamedb" file. The 2 TV files were transferred correctly (no errors) by DBEdit but the HD tuner started showing SNR 80%, 50%, 0% & then no signal.
I have now gone back to DreamboxUK_v2-1-2 image even though it only reads my HD only i.e. my CF and USB are useless with this image.

you bouquet files could be shot

start with known parameters and then move on

one step at a time narrows down errors - don't take 3 steps then say it doesn't work

you can ftp the files across!!

I have followed this with interest and I am beginning to think your best bet is not even to save anything but start from scratch and reflash with a known and tested image and then build all back up again - it does sound as if somewhere along the line a lot has got corrupted. Regarding the BA problem Oldfart has already said there are known issues with the 7020 and some images also in E2 for the 8000. I have DE running on my 8000 - an older version 2.1 and the 3.0E2 running on the 7020 - BA can be loaded onto the older version but wont load onto my 7020 atm. All devices are picked up by the older DE and the newer one. I run a HDD internal 2G inside the 8000 and DVD reader/writer with no probs and usb sticks on both. There always comes a time when an image starts to become corrupted particularly if many things are added on and changed and I have from old 7000 days accepted that if I am going to keep trying and adding things eventually it will all have to be renewed since it all slows down and starts to crash a lot. Having said this normally I can save bouquets lists etc to hdd or usb for use once reloaded but as Oldfart also says - similar to what I was thinking last night- the satellites.xml may also be corrupted - it can be taken out and a new one loaded though. I am a mac user so just have the Xdream prog for all loading and ftp, and DBedit for saving and reloading saved files - there are odd glitsches with it but in general it works satisfactorily, and I do not now use Telnet - it confuses me LOL. I do feel that perhaps a restart step by step will be the answer. Good Luck - Brain
