Hi everyone

Now I have a bit more time on my hands I am getting back into the satellite hobby. I have been away for a few years away and I see things have changed a great deal on the reciever side of things.

I still have my modified SCT highway 1.2m dish and a Technomate 5500 DAPCI which had not been switched on for a while due to the dish being pointed at the sly sattelites.
It needs a new actuator as the old Jeager motor has rusted and seized solid.

I was looking to get into the Linux receivers maybe an AZbox or similar. However I am struggling to find a place to start the steep learning curve again and a lot of the thread titles are speaking alien.
Is there an idiots guide or should I just buy a book on learning Linux. I was quite proficient in msdos and Basic as a youngster so hopefully I can get a handle on the syntax etc.

Any advice anyone could give on Linux or the best box to purchase would be very welcome.

thanks very much for your time.

regards
Daz

Welcome to Pimps Daz, would not go for Azbug if you want an E2 box.
VU+ would be my choice. :respect-048:
