dreambox 880 hd clone wont boot

hi there my dm was working fine but now when i switch on doesnt say anything but dream multimedia, tried holding the button in while plugging power supply back in and nothing, tried to connect using dreamup but says unable to connect to com 4 , any help please

sorry i was meant to say 800 hd also the 2 ethernet lights are on all the time

try a few different versions of dreamup. I had the same problem after I found I couldn't flash it.

And if all else fails there is a way of disabling the image using Telnet and then (after a re-boot) using the web interface to load a new one..

Had to do this on a previous DB that had a duff serial port.

Aha! Found the info.

This info was written about the DB 600 but I think it applies to all models after that (can someone confirm this ? ).

The comments about discovering the IP address shouldn't apply to the 800s as they have a front panel display but I'd still feel happier connecting via a router.

What are You using, sll ? and image ? There is a special dreamup for buggy clones !

could be power supply happened to me months ago, ethernet and dream logo nothing else!
