Maps Europe or UK

Is there any difference between a say 895 map of the uk and the UK section of a similar European map as to detail speed etc? do I load both or just the UK ??

i think the euro ones are about 2 gig in size..so if you just want the Uk then just load the Uk version..latest one is in these forums.

I have been lead to believe that the detail for the UK is less in the European maps than the dedicated UK one, but get a second opinion

I loaded a 1GB Europe map (885.4058) onto an SD card but I revert to the single country map when it isn't needed.

The main reason for doing that is that it seems to take twice the time to compute a route using the Europe one.

I'll play about with it and see what is missing (as something must be).

Just done a test and the W. Europe map take about 4 times as long to compute a local route.
