Hello to you all,

I have just joined the site, very much a virgin when it comes to the whole area of dreamboxes etc

However, I will try my best to find the info, and understand what you guys tell me

Mind you, even when I find one of the "idiots guides" I get lost

Unfortunately it presumes a certain level of knowledge even to understand the guide (I got stuck on what a cccam is:o15:)

I have what appears to be a genuine 800hd which was already set up.........I just plugged it in and it worked

Well it did, the guy I use tried to reflash but it wouldn't work so he put the original image back on

Got it home and............

I no longer have a picture, or when I can fiddle with the power supply I get a picture but no sound, even if I change any of the settings via the audio button on the remote

The screen on the box shows the channel etc and I can change this with the remote

I am able to log in to the web control and it will stream channels to the computer with sound, but thats it

Found this info

NabiloSat cccam 2.3.0

Is there anything obvious that is wrong?

Or anyone local to Leeds with the knowledge to help me sort it?

Wow, long post!!

what are you trying to watch with ccc@m?
do you have a viewing card?
Try ITV1 HD or CH4 HD they should open.

DM800 with a 2009 image on it. Wow that's almost antique. :)

Did you buy this 2nd hand?
What dish do you have it connected to?
Motorised?
Have you set up your tuner to suit your set up?

Hi donki, thanks for reply.

Not trying to watch anything with cccam, only just found out what it is, just saying that it is there

I did buy it second hand, no viewing card, guy put a dish on the side of the house, it's not motorised

Just plugged it and away we went

Taking it back tomorrow, do you have a suggestion for a better image so I can let him know?

Would it be best to remove any plug ins that are not being used, ie youtube?

I have the latest ( or almost latest, certainly 2012) EDG nemesis on my genuine dm800 which is of a similar age

and they dont come with viewing cards !! ;)

Ah OK. I'd let him sort it out for you but might be worth asking if it's possible to update it to a newer image. Nemesis might be nice as it's full featured. I currently use 2.4 at the moment as it is the only one I could find on which CrossEPG worked for me. Good luck tomorrow.

What always makes me smile is the way people on forums are so (well mostly) helpful

What the hell did we do before the internet?

One last thing....anyone in the Leeds area willing to help?

My guy has knowledge but probably not as much as a lot of you guys on here:respect-049: lol

the point about forums is that you do these things yourself with advice from the forums, that way you can sort it out yourself when it goes wrong instead of relying on somebody else doing it all for you in which case you learn nothing and cannot fix anything

you did not say how it is connected to the tv but I suspect you are using hdmi, in which case lower the resolution to say 480p or 576i after connecting to the tv by scart, then try 720p or 1080i, bearing in mind if you go higher than your tv can manage you will get no HD over hdmi picture as you have exceeded the tv limits
