need to know about openRSI/enigma2

i'm new to this discussion, so i need to know what is the difference between an original FW and openRSI .
and specially what are the cons/pros to install this FW openRSI ?
also what is enigma2 ?

finally, if i think to install openRSI, what are the steps to follow ?

There is no short answer to this but there is plenty of discussion on this very forum on this subject already. The search function works a treat as does the similar threads listing. As a last resort there is always Bing.

lets just say the ori firmware is NOT very firendly and buggy.

i use OPENPLI 3.0 and its good, but im getting random lock ups when scheduling recordings with timers, in fact as i type this, im reinstalling the latest daily build, and hoping it goes away.

NOTA : do you use the offical site www.openrsi.org to install the FW ?
