DM8000 problems

Hi ,
New Dreambox 8000 running OpenPli won't boot up .
If I connect to it using Null modem cable i get the following :

that's as far as it gets ( can't get an IP via DHCP either )
any guidance on what I can do ?

sorry can't connect using null modem cable ( using dream-up I have no connection )
I'm using hyperterminal to give the initial connection details

Al these boxes should be able to put an image in via webinterface. They do sometimes have a quirk that holding the button down to obtain the internet address is reversed - ie if it should be top button and you get nothing try bottom one - it can also change from time to time - mine does!! Having found the address on the front screen use it as the webaddress and connect to the box - then browse your comp for where you have put the file and upload it.Once done reboot and follow onscreen instructions. I use Dream Elite/Newenigma2 or oozoon - no probs normally. Dreamup is not used much for these nowadays - or I dont anyway! Any more help needed just get back to me. Cheers - Brain

your second stage boot loader is VERY old
before you do anything else - that needs to be updated.
but
you need to be able to connect to it first.

get the boot loader from

you install it the same way as an image

Biggest concern is not been able to connect with the dreambox at all ( via null modem cable or IP )
Been a long day so far and i haven't made progress

Is there a way to connect via null modem cable and just force an upload ?

why can't you connect using LAN??
If you read the post I pointed you to, it will work!

Hi google for "Flicksters Magic Files" download it it contains a modified dreamup version that will force a bootloader update to your box, ive used it to fix my dm8000.
