Fan running

Hello new to the sat scene does anybody now why my hard drive keeps running when not recording or playing back just when tv is on.thanks rachy.

It must be HOT. Is there a DvD player above it ?.
The £1 shop do a little tray with a fan in it that runs via the usb socket.
It'll help to keep this cooler.
Also, when you are hoovering the house, stick the nozzle at the air vents of the box.

no nothing above it could it be the settings my little boy had hold of remote this afternoon.

The fan on my vu+duo goes off when on standby but when i put it back on it comes on any suggestions.thanks rachy

Sell it and get as AZBox ME. No fan at all.

Setup/system/harddisk/ set standby to something like 5 minutes.
Setup/system/fan control set it to auto

If you don't have those options then flash a decent image
