Hi all and HNY to you.

I recently upgraded my 3500 to 2.11.16 / mgcam 1.38a and the latest channel list FDU 1112xx and still getting lockups
plugin failures - scrambled channel and orange led reboots after lockups.

All I can think of is to flatten the box and relaod from scratch but wanted to ask if anyone had the same issues or advice as to how to correct it.

I am now seriously looking at a higher end box due to the instability of this SW Rev / Box.

Any advice greatfully received.,

Thanks.

Ron.

the only way I would "flatten" an icecrypt is using a heavy steamroller :)

buy a vu solo2 or a vu duo from the sponsor goldwafers and you wont look back or spend hours wasting your time

that is my advice

Advice will be taken, thank you.
I was looking at the VU+ Solo2.

The crypt was only ever meant to test the whole process, now I have established what I like - time to move on to a higher spec VU.

Thanks echelon - you confirmed my thoughts.

Ron.

You can use flash V6 firmware cleaner from the icecrypt website to correct any firmware errors in your S3500 then reload the latest firmware which is V2.11.30 from the same site.
Make sure your plugins are the latest version and avoid using the MGcamd config as that is causing lockups with the newer firmware.

Thanks CAS, I may well give that a go but I want a dual tuner anyway so I will just feel better about selling this one if it were more stable.

OK I used V6, did a factory reset from the menu, reloaded the SW bundle and so far so good.

Will update in a few days.

Feedback on new FW - alot more stable than before. No crashes unless I go into the recording options and then I get black screen but otherwise a definate improvement.

black screen from recording could be a plugin issue. Are you using MGcam?
