I'm trying to help a friend of mine out. He seems to have gotten his hands on a TM5500 box. He's under the impression that the box has been patched. However, he doesn't know how to access cccam - to edit it.

Q. Can he ftp into this box - and if so, what's the username and password likely to be?

Q. Is it possible to access this via the UI? Is there a hidden menu -and if so, how is it accessed?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

It's not linux and it's obsolete.

Thanks for your post manic01. I appreciate that technomates are not linux - and that this box is old. However, he is adamant that the previous owner could nevertheless use it for this hobby (i.e. c/s). Has anyone here ever owned one?

not possible in my opinion

here is the pdf for it from 2004 (so its over 8 years old)

_http://www.technomate.com/pdfs/TM-5500DAPCI-Test-Report-What-Satellite-January-2004.pdf

it has no ethernet so ftp is out of the question, neither is cs

any patches at that time would have been similar to tm1500 patches and so little if anything will be open, maybe biss or a few softcam type channels

so no ftp, no cccam , no cs , no ethernet working , nothing at all

its old , its obsolete, and only any good as a 36v positioner and for fta channels

that is my view

got a feeling you may need a dm500 image for that box, but I havent seen or used one

try the tm9100/tm500 section
