Hi Guys,

I've got the icecrypt up and working finial without any issues at all apart from the view issues I posted which thank you guys got me sorted.

I always like to get more out of a box than I can and my attention started looking at raspberry pi with xbmc on - _http://www.raspbmc.com/ as for £30 it seems a very good client media player.

firstly is there any way to stream off the icecrypt to the xbmc raspberry pi using version 12 it comes with a live TV option?

secondly if I use the icecrypt as the main option in the main tv room, what do I need to stream the freesat from the dish over to the raspberry pi again using xbmc version 12 around the house. There seems to be so many options and not one that I can follow, for example dreambox and raspberry xbmc possible could do the job? I don't want to spend to much, but streaming them over the lan is a very attractive option, as I don't need to install individual cables for each client.

Anyone got an suggestions on this? as icecrypt is a linux box with loads of plugins which hopefully is customizable to provide a solution for the above.

thanks in advance

lil

I believe Raspbmc only works with Enigma2 boxes (there's a plug in for it). Or by using a USB tuner in the Pi.

I dont really understand this aspect of the PI , but anything you read indicates that the stuff you need to buy is probably more like £60 to £100 and uses the PI as the s*rv*r to distribute using oscam to each and every box, and would need more equipment than the £30 basic budget you indicated

the ice would be the client box same as any other box

so PI to ICE , not the other way round, leaving the ice to be the sat receiver it was always meant to be

possibly some info on this in the coding section here
