Hi All.

Got a problem with remote control, it only works about 4 inches from the box this happened suddenly with no warning last night.

First suspect was the batteries which I recharged, no joy been out this morning bought new alkaline batteries again no luck.

Having done a search on here found other people have had this or similar problems with other boxes, I did find a few tips such as looking at remote through video camera, did this and the remote is sending an infra red beam the remote operates my tv no prob and I have pressed stb on the remote It seems the box is not as sensitive to remote commands as it was.

The buttons on the front panel seem to work ok. Going out now to get some Duracells but I am not optimistic that this will work.

If this doesn't work would doing a factory reset help I will backup my settings and channel lists first.

Many Thanks in advance (sorry to be a pain)

Hi all,

Didn't manage to get Duracells no AAA size in stock. So I turned box off at back and disconnected from mains also I reversed the 2 pin plug in its adaptor (don't know how that could make any difference but it worked once before).

I didn't hold out much hope in view of having it turned off at the back overnight and that was no help.

Now after reconnecting to mains its working ok. Very relieved I was thinking it was a hardware problem.

Still thinking about doing a factory reset cause of other non related problems.

By the way left it unplugged for about 4 hours.

Thanks ManikM for your help much appreciated.

I did more flash cleaning/factory resets on this unit than using it. Eventually gave up as I began noticing a very weird behaviour occurring within myself which went something like this.....
Crashing ice > flash cleaner > reloading f/w,
Plugins crashing > flash cleaner > reloading f/w,
Freezing > flash cleaner > reloading f/w.

You're not the only one. Welcome to the world of Icecrypt.
It doesn't get any better. I have 2 Icecrypt units:The S4000 and S6000 with the same problems- wearing out the remote quickly, as I'm having to press the buttons harder now. many crashes and the all the above.

Good Luck.
